Oregon Beer, Worthy BrewingHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, June 4. As usual, I’ll be updating this post throughout the day with the latest news and events as I find them, so be sure to check back often for updates. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted too.

Worthy Brewing (Bend) has its monthly Charity Pint Night kicking off at 4pm today, with Oregon Wild as this month’s beneficiary: “Mission: Oregon Wild works to protect and restore Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife and waters as an enduring legacy for all Oregonians. Founded in 1974, Oregon Wild (formerly the Oregon Natural Resources Council or ONRC) has been instrumental in securing permanent legislative protection for some of Oregon’s most precious landscapes, including nearly 1.7 million acres of Wilderness, 95,000 acres of forests in Bull Run/Little Sandy watersheds (to safeguard the quality of Portland’s water supply) and almost 1,800 miles of Wild & Scenic Rivers. The first Tuesday of every month we host a pint night in support of a local charity or cause. From 4pm to close on the designated day of that month $1 of every pint sold will be donated to the chosen charity. We love our Bend community and love being able to give back and support a variety of great causes.”

Bend’s Deschutes Brewery has its Community Pints benefit taking place today at all of its locations, where $1 from every pint sold is donated to a local non-profit organization selected for the month. I haven’t yet seen who the beneficiaries are for the month of June, but be sure to stop by either of the Bend locations or the Portland Pub to help out with a pint or three today!

The second day of Eugene Beer Week rolls in, with a solid lineup of events and beer:

McMenamins has a couple of Friends & Family Night fundraisers taking place today starting at 5pm, where 50% of the night’s food and drink sales are donated to a local organization. In Tigard, the Greenway Pub is benefiting Voss Elementary School, while Portland’s Kennedy School is raising money for Rose City Park. It’s a super easy way to help out the community—just grab a beer and dinner!

Deschutes Brewery’s Bend Pub has a new beer on tap today: “Today we release a special collaboration beer with the The Patient Angler Fly Shop in celebration of their 35th anniversary! Pub Brewer Robin Johnson and shop owner Peter Bowers teamed up to create the Patient Angler Pale Ale now exclusively on tap at the Pub.” The beer is 4.6% ABV and 40 IBUs.

Oregon City Brewing has its weekly Charity Pint Night starting at 5pm, and this week the brewery is benefiting St. John the Apostle Catholic School. $1 from every pint sold after 5 will be donated.

Portland Brewing announced today a collaboration with the Portland Pickles baseball team. From the press release: “Kicking off the 2019 West Coast League baseball season, Portland Brewing announces the first ever craft beer collaboration with Dillon The Pickle, mascot for the Portland Pickles baseball team. Dill’s Pils releases today on draft during the Pickles’ season opener at Walker Stadium in Portland’s Lents Park. Later in the summer, the brewery will also participate in two events at the ballpark highlighting their Keep Portland Weird beer series. Dill’s Pils is brewed to be a summery stadium-style Pilsner, light and refreshing at just 4.5% ABV with a golden straw color, floral aroma from Mt. Hood hops, and a clean, crisp finish. Available for the entirety of the season, thirsty Pickles fans can find Dill’s Pils in Walker Stadium on the main concourse and at the Ford Northside Party Deck.”
