Oregon Beer, Claim 52 BrewingHappy hump day! Here’s the Oregon beer news to fill up your Wednesday, which I’ll be updating throughout the day. As much as is going on, it’s a bit of a “calm before the storm” since both Medford Beer Week and Portland Beer Week are starting over the next couple of days, so be ready!

Eugene Beer Week continues today with the following slate of events:

Bend’s Silver Moon Brewing has launched this year’s F* Cancer program with its F* Cancer IPA. “This is the 5th year of Silver Moon Brewing’s F* Cancer Program. Since the beginning of the program, our mission has been to spread awareness, develop communities, and support the mission of our non-profits fights against Cancer. This year we are going bigger than ever. With a diverse team of non-profit partners, expanded product availability and types, and strong support of our various communities, we will continue to build on the financial and sociological impact that F* Cancer has had on thousands. Our F* Cancer IPA has always been the backbone of the F* Cancer program. We wanted to take what we do best and use it as a tool to help raise dollars and spread awareness around the fight against cancer. To carry on our last years tradition, we will again be featuring the names of over 750 cancer survivors and fighters directly on each label. This is another way that we can pay tribute to the courage those that battle cancer each day.” There will be a series of upcoming release parties that I will include in the news as they happen.

Fort George Brewery (Astoria): Spruce Budd Ale returns today! “It’s an annual labor of love. Spruce Budd Ale returns today, in Sweet Virginia Series bottles and on tap at 4:30 in the Lovell Taproom. This yearly favorite is brewed with all Pilsner malt and local spruce tips, hand-harvested by the brewers. Get it quickly and drink it fresh. This small batch won’t hang around long.”

Boneyard Beer (Bend) has a new beer alert out today too: “New beer alert! Sticky Zwickel with pomegranate and raspberry is back on tap at the pub!”
