4th annual Oregon Brewshed BrewfestHappy hump day! Have you raised a glass to American Craft Beer Week yet? Get on it! Here is the Oregon beer news for this Wednesday, May 15, which I’ll be updating throughout the day with news as I find it.

McMenamins Kennedy School (Portland) is hosting the 4th annual Oregon Brewshed Brewfest once again today, from 5:30 to 9:30pm. “Oregon Brewshed® Alliance, Oregon Wild and the Kennedy School present the 4th annual Oregon Brewshed Brewfest. With the motto ‘great beer begins with clean water,’ The Oregon Brewshed® Brewfest is a celebration of fantastic Oregon craft beer and the wild watersheds that make it possible, featuring the breweries and other businesses committed to watershed protection through their partnership in the Oregon Brewshed® Alliance. More than 30 Oregon breweries and other craft beverage businesses will be pouring a special beer or other beverage for attendees. Your ticket gets you 8 tastes, a special pint glass, a Brewshed® Brewfest Passport, one raffle ticket and entry. Additional tastes and raffle tickets will be available for $1 each. McMenamins pub fare will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the event benefit Oregon Wild, the environmental nonprofit working to protect Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters as an enduring legacy, and keep Oregon full of great beer through the Oregon Brewshed® Alliance initiative.” Cost is $25 which gets you the special pint glass and 8 tastes of beer. The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting Portland Cider Company for the can release of its new Pineapple Rosé Cider: “Get ready to try your luck at a ‘reverse raffle’ to win sweet swag from Portland Cider Co. as we celebrate their newest can release – Pineapple Rose Cider!” This cider is created with pineapple and a “splash” of blueberries to give it a pink hue. The event is from 5 to 8pm.

And in related news, Portland Cider announced its annual Portland Cider Luau to take place in a few weeks on June 1: “Kick-off summer at our annual Portland Cider Luau 🌺✨🌴🍍 Drink out of a whole Pineapple and sample FIVE different Pineapple Ciders at our pineapple bar, including our summer seasonal PINEAPPLE ROSÈ.”

Klamath Basin Brewing (Klamath Falls) has another new beer release today for American Craft Beer Week: “Wednesday is here and that means another release for American Craft Beer Week! We promised something special and we are delivering! Corey and Patrick have brought up a pony keg of our 15th Anniversary Stout, it has been aging for 4 years and has only gotten better with time! There are only 100 pours of this extremely limited beer available exclusively at the brewpub. So come enjoy a glass before it disappears again! Skal!”

Threshold Brewing (Portland) has a new beer release, Galaxy Imperial IPA: “Opening a brewery takes a lot of planning…and permitting. 14 pounds, to be exact. With the final permit on the pile last month, we brewed a celebratory ‘Best Laid Plans’ New England style IIPA dryhopped with Galaxy hops. It’s 8%, it’s passion fruit, peach, citrus and tropical, with a touch of earthy and floral flavors. Tapping today!”

McMenamins Murray & Allen (Beaverton) is hosting a limited-edition beer tasting today from 5 to 8pm with Oak Hills brewer Dan Black. No mention of the beer pouring tonight but it’s always worth checking out.

Rock Bottom Brewery (Portland) has new beer on tap for you now: “ON TAP: Raspberry Peach IPA. A juicy IPA infused with tart flavors of raspberries and sweet undertones of peaches. ABV: 5.7% | IBU: 70. He’s pouring that next beer just for you!”

Today is Hefe Day with Widmer Brothers Brewing! “Happy Hefe Day! 33 years ago today the very first keg of Hefe was delivered to a Portland area account, and the rest is history. Officially recognized in 2016 as a City of Portland Proclamation, Hefe Day has been celebrated May 15th each and every year since. So let’s raise a pint, bottle, or can to Kurt and Rob Widmer, creators of the first American-style Hefeweizen! Prost!”

2 Towns Ciderhouse (Corvallis) is hosting its Pets On The Patio fundraiser today running from 4 to 6pm: “Pints, pets and patios?? What more could you want? We’ve partnered with Heartland Humane Society for another summer full of pets, snuggles & adoptions! Join us at our Tap Room every 3rd Wednesday for a chance to meet & play with some amazingly adoptable pets! They will be bringing a collection of furry friends every week that are available for adoption, so that you can cuddle & snuggle while sipping on some delicious craft cider! Who knows, you might find a new favorite cider and they might find their furrever home!” In addition, 10% of all sales during this time go to the shelter.

The 10 Barrel Brewing Portland Pub has a new beer pouring today: “We’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day – Limoncello Sour sunshine! Brewed to emulate the traditional Italian liqueur, this lightly sweet & tart lemony goodness is enough to brighten up your rainy Wednesday. Fresh beer is the best beer and this baby was just tapped today. Come grab a glass!”

And Portland’s Von Ebert Brewing has a new beer out today as well—Juicy IPA. “Juicy IPA is hopped with Mosaic and Simcoe for flavors of papaya, melon & pineapple. It carries a similar hop bill to our popular Volatile Substance IPA, but we fermented it with a different yeast to a lower alcohol percentage. Juicy IPA showcases the impact that different yeasts can have on hop flavor and aroma. Enjoy our experiment! 6.2% ABV・50 IBU”
