Oregon Beer, Oakshire BrewingHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Wednesday, April 17. As usual I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news as I find it, so check back from time to time for the latest. And if you have news to share, please feel free to contact me anytime and I can get that posted as well.

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene) is helping to Save the Bees today with its Oakshire Inspires fundraiser and beer release taking place all day long: “Join us for a special Oakshire Inspires & the annual beer release, featuring GloryBee Foods and this year’s Save the Bee. We will be tapping 2019 Save the Bee: a dry-hopped hazy blonde ale with honey. $1 from every pint sold throughout the whole day will be donated to Save the Bee. The fine folks from Glory Bee will be onsite from 5-7pm, answering questions and giving out information, but if you can’t make it during that time, not to worry – your pint will count as a donation no matter what time you drink it!”

McMenamins Oak Hills Brewpub (Portland) is hosting its monthly limited-edition beer tasting today with brewer Dan Black from 5 to 8pm. The site isn’t listing what beer will be pouring tonight, but there is a nice variety of beers in the general lineup and we’ve been seeing some experimental IPAs from McMenamins of late, so while it could be any specialty style on tap, I wouldn’t be completely surprised to see a hazy IPA or similar.

Ruse Brewing (Portland) will be tapping the latest in the beta 3-Way IPA collaboration beers it has been working on with Fort George Brewery and Cloudburst Brewing. “Hey y’all! Today at 3pm @fortgeorgebeer 3-Way IPA beta 18.5 and 18.6 will be on tap. The official Portland 3-Way release party takes place right here at Ruse on June 1st from 12-6pm. We will have awesome food, face painting, DJ Pablo Ricardo and a small swimming pool full of fresh, frothy 16oz cans. This event will also feature 4 special beers from @cloudburstbrew and @fortgeorgebeer as well as limited 3-way glassware and other fun merch.”

Claim 52 Brewing (Eugene) has both a crowler special and a fundraiser today: “Wednesday Crowler Special is “Sah Brah”, our Mexican Lager collaboration with @allegorybrewing – $8 for one, or $15 for two. We are also hosting the @warriorsisters for Pints for Non-Profits, with one dollar from every pint going directly to their organization. It’s a beautiful day, with another on the horizon. Join us for a pint”

Upright Brewing (Portland) has a classic style of beer on tap to check out: “Inspired by classic English-style bitters (and our Seattle neighbors Machine House Brewery), Bill’s Bitter tastes like it came straight from a pub across the pond. At a full-flavored 3.8%, you can knock a few back in our tasting room or bring some home for the weekend!”

Block 15 Brewing (Corvallis) has four Easter candy-inspired beers out in time for the holiday, which the brewery is calling Beerster Eggs: “A few weeks ago our brewhouse was taken over by a fuzzy, pointy-eared li’l brewer with the whimsical idea to brew a series of Easter candy inspired beers. The result is Beerster Egg Hunt—a delightful collection of fermented confections that we are releasing over the next two weeks as a mixed 4-pack, just in time for Easter.” The beers are Chocolate Creme Imperial Stout (brewed with Cadbury drinking chocolate, liquid cacao, milk sugar, and whole vanilla beans), The Sour Jelly Bean (Sour Ale Brewed with Jelly Beans), Peanut Butter Chocolate Porter, and IPeepsA (IPA Brewed with Marshmallows and Sprinkles).
