Oregon Beer, The BeerMongersHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Wednesday, September 5, compiling all of the goings-on for this Hump Day. As usual, I’ll be updating this post occasionally throughout the day with the latest news as I find it, so keep checking back for updates. Portland’s The BeerMongers is celebrating nine years in business this week, starting today! Every single one day since opening in 2009, the bar and bottleshop has been open, which is quite a feat. Brewpublic has details about the anniversary events taking place today through Sunday the 9th, and today to kick it off the ‘Mongers is hosting a 9th anniversary bottle share and pizza party. “Join us for a celebration of 9 years of The BeerMongers. We have been open for 3287 days in row! Tonight we will have some of our favorite beers on draft and will be featuring well crafted local lagers. We encourage everyone to root around in their cellar and bring one bottle to share that is 5 years old or older. We will also have pizza available from our favorite local spot Scottie’s Pizza Parlor on Division.”

Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland) is releasing Fresh Hop Totally Chill today start at 5pm: “Fresh Hop Totally Chill is a fresh hopped version of our favorite summer seasonal! Available for one month only on limited draft and in cans. You can find cans in grocery stores beginning next week and we’re releasing the beer on draft at ALL 3 pubs on Wednesday, September 5th starting at 5pm!”

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting a warm-up to the Rose City Comic Con this weekend with Ninkasi Brewing: “Ninkasi’s own Ryan Brentley will be on-site for this spectacular pre-funk party for the Rose City Comic Con, which takes place Sept. 7-9 at the Oregon Convention Center! Ryan will be raffling off some great Ninkasi gear AND 2 full weekend passes for the Rose City Comic Con. Along with these giveaways we will be pouring some great Ninkasi drafts which will include:
– Oktoberfest
– Barrel Aged Ground Control
– Raspberry Lime Gose
– Hazy Damnation
So come on in, enjoy some tasty Ninkasi brews and get your name in the drawing! Wear a costume to better your chances of winning. It’s going to be FUN! But seriously… wear a costume!” It takes place from 5 to 8pm.

Monkless Belgian Ales (Bend) has a new beer being released on Friday: Four Devils, a strong Belgian-style golden ale. “Four Devils was originally brewed in celebration of the fourth anniversary of The Abbey Bar and Bottle Shop in downtown Portland, and the reception was so good we had to bring it back as our Fall Seasonal!” There will be $1 off full pours of the new beer Friday.

Bend’s RiverBend Brewing tapped its first fresh hop beer yesterday! “Get our first fresh hop release now at the pub. “Millennials Hate Centennials”. Of course we’re using Centennial hops direct from @crosbyhops, packed late in the brew process to preserve as much of the delicious oils as possible. Get it soon because these are limited batches, with five more fresh hop beers coming out soon!”

Mazama Brewing (Corvallis) has a fresh hop beer out now, in cans even: “Green Magic Fresh Hop has arrived! This fresh hop pale ale features #centennialhops from @crosbyhops and is bursting with deliciousness. Get your cans from your favorite #craftbeer retailer now!”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend) has tapped its 30th anniversary collaboration with Bell’s Brewery, Schwarzbier, at the Bend Pub today: “Our 30th anniversary collaboration beer with Bell’s Brew and our former head brewer, Tim Gossack. This beer is full-flavored with roast chocolate and nutty notes urging you to grab one after another.
Schwarzbier Dark Lager is available on draft and in 6 packs at the pub.”

Boneyard Beer (Bend) has a new collaboration beer out: “3BS – our collaboration IPA with the homies from Barley Brown’s & Beachwood Brewing is on draft now at the pub!”

10 Barrel Brewing (Bend): The Portland pub has a new brut style pale (IPA?) on tap: “Inspired by fruited seltzer, this “brut” style beer was fermented until there were hardly any sugars left and then aged on fresh grapefruit and kissed with a fruity hop essence.”

Vagabond Brewing (Salem) has its seasonal pumpkin beer release dropping on Friday: “This Friday we release 🎃 In Gourd We Trust, our seasonal Pumpkin Spiced beer! We’re so excited about it, we’re offering $1 off pints of this fall goodness Friday-Sunday. See you then!”

Portland hop pickers take note: next Tuesday the 11th, the Lucky Lab is holding its community hop harvest for The Mutt, the Lab’s fresh hop ale: “Who’s ready for Hop Harvest 2018? This upcoming Tuesday, Sept. 11th, starting at 4pm at our SE Hawthorne pub, bring your homegrown hops and help us harvest! Beer & wings provided to volunteer Hop Harvesters. The collected hops will be used to make our extremely limited edition fresh hop pale ale, that we like to call The Mutt. The Mutt will be available at all four locations about 10 days after the harvest.”
