Oregon Beer, pFriem Family BrewersHere is the Oregon beer news to kick off a new week, this Monday, June 11, rounding up news and events from around the state. I hope you had a great weekend, and are ready to tackle the week! As usual I’ll be updating this post periodically throughout the day so check back often for the latest.

pFriem Family Brewers (Hood River) is teaming up with Tusk Restaurant in Portland for a Dinner Party tonight starting at 7:30pm: “Inspired by a recent trip to the Hood River brewery, Executive Chef Sam Smith and his culinary team are cooking up a beer dinner at Tusk with pFriem Family Brewers on June 11th during PDX Beer Week. The menu will be a special version of The Deluxe Edition, the restaurant’s family-style dining experience, a feast of shared dishes highlighting the full spectrum of Tusk’s menu, with the addition of a few special plates created just for the evening, paired with pFriem’s beers. Founder and Brewmaster Josh pFriem will be at the table to introduce the five beers served, including a couple of rarities. The beer dinner will be ticketed and served family-style, while diners in the main dining room that evening will be able to order à la carte from the nightly dinner menu and an extended list of pFriem’s bottles and draughts available for the night.” Tickets are a steep $120(!) available here if you’re interested.

Portland Beer Week continues today, and in addition to the ongoing events listed here (and the Tusk/pFriem dinner listed above), here are happenings taking place:

Medford Beer Week continues today as well, with these events going on:

This Father’s Day weekend, the Oregon Garden BrewCamp Fest (formerly the Oregon Garden Brewfest) returns to Silverton for three days of beer tasting, live music, tours, workshops, homebrew demos, and more set against the backdrop of the Oregon Garden. You can also camp there during the weekend, which would make for an interesting (and unique to Oregon?) brewfest experience. Over 40 breweries will be on hand pouring 80+ beers. Tickets start at $45 but look at the tickets page to find the right package/price for you.

This weekend at Tenmile Lake (north of Coos Bay), the Lakeside Brewfest takes place on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16, with (currently) 11 breweries, cideries, and wineries listed. “Boat in, fly in, bike in, walk in or drive into Lakeside and enjoy a party in the palms at the Lakeside Brewfest! Grab your favorite Oregon craft brew, w brew, wine or cider, listen to rockin’ music and enjoy great grub at the beach on the shore of Tenmile Lake.” Admission to drink is $10. Looks like this will be a fun little fest on the southern coast.

And rounding out the weekend’s beer festivals (well, maybe!) is the Southern Oregon Craft Brew Fest that caps Medford Beer Week on Saturday the 16th. “Southern Oregon’s premier craft brew festival takes place on June 16th, 2018 at Pear Blossom Park (the park block of the Medford Commons) in downtown Medford, Oregon. For 2018: Over 35 craft breweries and food by Fired Up, Wok Star, Peruvian Point & All Smoked Out BBQ. This year the festival is brought to you by Southern Oregon Subaru & Beerworks and pairing up this year as a Subaru Drive Safe Event. $20 at the gate = pint glass & 8 tasting tickets.”

Freebridge Brewing (The Dalles) has a new beer on tap: “We’re releasing Stub Tail Ranch IRA. Our lucky winner of the Gorge Radio – Bicoastal Media Auction, Duane Schultz, is premiering his collaboration beer with us tonight at 4PM. It is a super juicy India Red Ale hopped with buckets full of Citra and Mosaic hops. Goes down easy at 7% ABV!”
