Oregon Beer, Silver Moon BrewingHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, June 5. As usual I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest items as I find them, so check back occasionally for updates. And if you have news to share, please feel free to let me know so I can post it as well.

Silver Moon Brewing (Bend) has its F* Cancer campaign returning once again for the month of June. From the press release: “Returning for a fourth year, Silver Moon Brewing will again lead the charge for cancer prevention, education and research with its annual “F* Cancer” campaign. Benefitting the American Cancer Society West Region, the campaign aims to raise funds through the sale of Silver Moon’s limited edition F* Cancer IPA, F* Cancer themed merchandise, and additional fundraising events hosted by partner retailers in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and select Northern California counties.” Keep an eye out for F* Cancer events and be sure to pick up the beer when you see it!

7 Devils Brewery (Coos Bay): A couple of new beer items from their e-newsletter stood out: “Each Monday we’ll be tapping one keg of freshly dry hopped hazy beer, showcasing a different aroma hop each week.” The “MondHaze” yesterday featured Mosaic Haze. And then there is the upcoming Stanton St. Lager: “This cascade lager is named after the location of the original Coos Bay brewery. It’s lagering now and should be ready for release in early June.” Some items to look for down on the southern coast.

Eugene Beer Week continues today with the following events:

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the various Deschutes locations, where $1 of every pint sold benefits a local non-profit organization. I haven’t seen posted who the beneficiaries are this month but rest assured your pint(s) will be helping good causes!

Oregon City Brewing has its Charity Pint Night today as well, benefiting Sunshine to Love starting at 5pm: “Let’s help some kids! Our Charity Pint Night this week is Sunshine to Love, which aims to transform Sophia’s Sunshine into a love that will spread to other children and families affected by childhood cancer. So come out and have some beverages for a great cause!”

And Great Notion Brewing (Portland) has its monthly Community Support Night for Harkins House starting at 5pm: “Community Support night for Harkins House. Harkins House is a short-term shelter care facility for at risk youth between the ages of 12 to 17. The program provides a safe environment for local youth whose homes are no longer a resource. Since opening in 1977, Harkins House has served several thousand youth in our community. Individualized care is provided to each youth including a comprehensive evaluation, counseling and mental health services, an educational program and positive recreational activities. Harkins House is a safe, structured program dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to the youth and families it serves. Donations to the Friends of Harkins House help fund scholarships for youth seeking to enroll in college, vocational programs, sports, music programs and other positive extracurricular activities.”
