Oregon Beer, McMenamins Thompson BreweryHalfway through the week, with Oregon beer news to keep you going! Here’s the news for this Wednesday, May 9, which I will periodically update with the latest items as I find them. McMenamins Thompson Brewery (Salem) has its limited-edition beer tasting tonight from 5 to 7pm, with brewer Jen Kent on hand to talk about Bumble Blue Pale Ale: “This old favorite has gotten an upgrade! This delicious Pale Ale is perfect for easy-going afternoons or after a hard days work.” It’s 6.32 ABV with 35 IBUs.

The Brown Owl in Bend is celebrating the sixth anniversary of Gigantic Brewing tonight with a birthday bash starting at 4pm: “Did you know that Gigantic’s Ginormous IIPA was the first beer ever tapped at The Brown Owl? Legend has is that it was gone before the doors opened for business. In the sake of tradition, and delicious beers, and our shared love for each other, The Brown Owl and Gigantic Brewing will be having a co-birthday bash in Bend on May 9th! Come early and stay late for live music, tasty grub, and a delicious draft list to include Ginormous Imperial IPA and PinaCoolada Tropical Hazy IPA.”

Belmont Station is welcoming Washington’s Bale Breaker Brewing from 6 to 8pm for the brewery’s Oregon launch: “Hailing from the hops haven of the Yakima Valley, Bale Breaker comes by its name honestly! We are thrilled this brewery is finally coming to Oregon and to have a chance to help them launch their beers here!”

Three Mugs Brewing (Hillsboro) has a new beer release today, Boysenberry Sour: “It’s time for the next installment of our sour series: “We’ll Never Make a Sour” v4.0 with real Boysenberries! It has a beautiful pink color and awesome pucker-making flavor…mmmmm!”

Portland’s Ex Novo Brewing has a tease of a post today for an upcoming canned beer release: “Following yesterday’s teaser, here’s something that has us very, very excited. Fan favorite Cactus Wins the Lottery will return, but in 12oz six packs for summer! Look for it in a couple weeks, as well as launch events around town. Here’s hoping we can keep up with you thirsty folks!”
