Oregon Beer, Belmont StationHere is the Oregon beer news for this Tuesday, May 8. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post with the latest news and events as I come across them, so check back from time to time for new items.

Belmont Station (Portland) is celebrating peanut butter and jam today—with Boulevard Brewing’s newest beer, Jam Band: “Jammy, fruity and delicious, Boulevard’s newest year-round beer, Jam Band Berry Ale, is bursting with blueberry, red raspberry and cherry flavors. Taste it in the bottle shop, and pair it with some cookies made just for this beer! Wear your favorite Jam Band shirt to the tasting for some great Boulevard giveaways (while supplies last)!” The fun takes place from 5 to 8pm.

Gigantic Brewing celebrates its sixth birthday today! At the taproom in Portland, it’s birthday happy hour starting at 3pm: “There will be birthday “happy hour” pricing in the taproom on Gigantic draught beers from open to close. Happy hour comes but once a year at Gigantic and lasts for 6 hours, so we really should come up with a better term. But you get the idea. Thanks for sharing the last six years with us.” Congrats and happy birthday

In Eugene, The Bier Stein continues with the Gigantic birthday celebrations at 5pm: “We are celebrating Gigantic’s birthday and 6 years of delicious beer! Awesome tap list includes: High Fidelity IPA, Pipewrench Gin-Barrel IPA, End of Reason Petite Belgian Quad, Most Premium Russian Imperial Stout, Kolsch, and PinaCoolada Tropical Hazy IPA. There will also be cake and a raffle. See you there!”

Tuesdays are Community Pints days at Deschutes Brewery, where all locations donate $1 of every pint sold to a community non-profit organization. In Bend this month, the brewery is benefiting Tour Des Chutes (“Tour des Chutes are fundraising events that support Central Oregon children and adults with cancer”); in Portland, funds are being raised for A Hope For Autism Foundation: “AHFA serves the community by providing evidence-based treatment to kids with ASD to help them reach their highest potential, regardless of their caregiver’s financial situation or insurance plan.” Get over to one of the locations if you can and help out with a pint or three.

Oregon City Brewing has its Charity Pint Night tonight, raising funds for Clackamas River Basin Council starting at 5pm: “Join the Clackamas River Basin Council for a night out in Oregon City! The Oregon City Brewing Co. will be donating $1 for every OCB pint, taster, soda, crowler and growler purchased! Come meet fellow rivergoers, hikers, wildlife lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts!”

Worthy Brewing (Bend): Pint Night at Worthy from 4 to 9pm benefits Bend’s Jewell Elementary School: “In May, our pint night will be in support of Jewell Elementary School! $1 of every pint sold between 4pm-9pm will be donated to support this program. Every month we host a pint night in support of a great cause.”

McMenamins Roseburg Station has its Friends & Family Night starting at 5pm, benefiting UCAN Food Bank. “On Friends and Family Nights, bring everyone you know out for burgers, beers, wine, cocktails, salads, sandwiches, tater tots, the day’s specials and more – because at the end of the night, 50% of the evening’s total sales are donated to the beneficiary! The more you order, the more is earned for a good cause!” Get dinner and drinks tonight if you’re down southern Oregon way!

10 Barrel Brewing (Bend) is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day today: “To celebrate #teacherappreciationday, all teachers get $3 pints at our pub locations. Just bring in your teachers credentials!”
