Oregon Beer, Three Creeks BrewingHappy Thursday! I hope you’re enjoying the sun and warm weather we’re seeing today. Here’s the roundup of news and events in Oregon beer for this May 3; as usual, I will be periodically updating this post throughout the day with new items, so feel free to send any my way (click the contact form link in the sidebar).

Three Creeks Brewing (Sisters): The release party for the brewery’s Stonefly Session Ale in cans is taking place today at the production brewery from 5 to 8pm—and it’s a Stonefly Fish Fry! “We are SO excited to announce the canning of our Stonefly Session Ale, the Great American Beer Fest® Bronze Medal Winner in the Session Beer category! We are celebrating the release with what else but a classic fish fry! The Stonefly Session Ale is all about “Less Work, Mo’ Fishin’!” So leave work early and head over to our brewing facility at 265 E. Barclay Dr. in Sisters for a Backyard BBQ. There will be music, giveaways, $2 cans, and, of course, fish fry! We will also have Warfighter Pale Ale on tap as well as our new Mexican Lager, Tres Arroyos!”

2 Towns Ciderhouse (Corvallis) announced the return of Pearadise Imperial Cider, a summer seasonal blending apples with Anjou pears and muscat grapes. From the press release: “After hearing the cry for a pear cider, the company decided to add a bit of Pearadise to its seasonal lineup by bringing back a familiar name with an imperial recipe featuring Washington-grown anjou pears, Oregon-grown muscat grapes and as always, fresh-pressed 100% Northwest apples. With 8.6% ABV, full body, ripe pear character, and a kiss of floral notes from the muscat, no matter where you go this summer, you can always bring Pearadise along with you. Pearadise is part of the 2 Towns Ciderhouse seasonal line and will be available in May through the end of June to distributors in Washington, California, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, and the Chicago and Minneapolis areas.”

Kaiser Brewing (Forest Grove) revealed the brewery won accolades for its beer at the recent Nano Beer Fest: “Excite to announce we took 3rd at this year’s Nano Beer Fest for “Tinoco Loco” our Mexican style lager. You can get yours this Saturday, Cinco de Mayo, at Waltz Brewing as we release it to #forestgroveoregon. Made up of Vienna malt, flaked maze and a Mexican lager yeast strain … enjoy the light corn and malt flavors, a smooth mouth feel, and it’s crisp/clean finish. At 4.5% ABV, we might even catch you chugging one.”

Boneyard Beer (Bend) has been working on the build-out of its upcoming pub, and it’s getting close—the brewery posted a call for employees today: “BONEYARD BEER is looking for talented line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers for our upcoming Pub. We are going to be a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and need some committed, quick, detail-oriented cooks on our team.  For full-time employees the benefits include 100% medical, 401K, pub benefits, and tips. There is also opportunity for advancement for the right candidate(s). We are offering a competitive wage ($11-15/hr) to those with the right experience. Bend’s Broken Top Bottle Shop has its April Showers Bring May Sours continuing today, the sixth annual edition of this event. Accordingly six terrific sours are on tap throught Sunday the 6th, so you’ll want to get over there to check them out.

Full Sail Brewing in Hood River has a new fruit beer out—Summa’ Time Lime. From the release: “Summertime along the Columbia River Gorge in Hood River has a no-shirt, no-shoes, no-problem kind of vibe, and Full Sail Brewing Co.’s latest Pub Series offering brings that on-the-beach attitude to you wherever your summer finds you. Celeia and Northern Brewer hops, pilsner malt and flaked yellow corn, and a hint of lime work seamlessly together in this thirst-quenching, fresh and zesty, easy-drinking lager. Full Sail Summa’ Time Lime Lager is available May to August in 6-packs, on draft and in the Trophy Case. 4.5% ABV, 15 IBUs.”

Tillamook’s De Garde Brewing kicks off its fifth anniversary celebration today! We are releasing three new beers, as well as a special beer blended for our anniversary by one of our favorite breweries and continual inspirations, Block 15. We’ll also have some fantastic rotating taps pouring and some exciting additions to our on-premises bottle list. Oakshire Brewing (Eugene) posted a sneak preview of Hellshire VIII in preparation for the upcoming Hellshire Day: “Here it is — Your first glimpse of #HellshireVIII: a Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial Stout with coffee, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and dried peppers. Be among the first to try this newly emerged rendition by joining us for #HellshireDay2018 on Saturday, May 12th!”
