Oregon Beer, Coalition BrewingHow did it get to be the last day of April already? Are we ready for May? Regardless, here’s the Oregon beer news for this Tuesday, April 30; as usual, I’ll be updating this post with the latest news throughout the day. If you have any news or information to share please feel free to contact me so I can get that posted.

Eugene’s Bier Stein and Portland’s Coalition Brewing are buds, and tonight the Stein welcomes its Beer Buds for a tasting event from 5 to 8pm: “The chillest event of the year. We are featuring a specialty tap list from Coalition brewing, including 4 of their CBD infused beers. Try your hand at our version of beer pong to win a spin of the prize wheel & chat with some of the folks from Coalition about CBD and why it’s cool to put it in beer!”

In Portland, Belmont Station welcomes Hood River’s Logsdon Farmhouse Ales for the release party for Peche ‘n Brett at 5pm: “Join the Logsdon gang here at the Station for an evening of great Logsdon beers! We will be pouring Peche ‘n Brett and their Supercow Wit in the bar, and we will have 500 ml bottles of Peche ‘n Brett for sale in the shop. The Logsdon team might have some special stuff to share!”

The BeerMongers (Portland) is teaming up with Yachats Brewing to host a fundraiser with Yachats at Zenger Farm today starting at 5pm: “We’ve invited our great friends at Yachats Brewing in for a night of delicious coastal concoctions and philanthropy! We’ll be tapping a few varied kegs from Yachats (tbd), and some of the guys from the brewery will be around to talk about their process. We’ll also have our regular Tuesday night Cribbage Tournament (with sweet Yachats swag for the winner), which is always a good time. Finally, this is also our third year participating in Spring for Zenger, a great week-long event of fundraisers for Zenger Farm. As a result, 15% of the whole day’s sales will be donated to support the amazing educational programs at Zenger Farm!”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit. The Bend locations (Pub and Tasting Room) are benefiting Healthy Beginnings of Central Oregon, while the Portland Pub is benefiting Store to Door of Multnomah County. Help out by stopping in for a pint or three today!

McMenamins has a slew of Friends & Family Night fundraisers taking place tonight across quite a few locations. The F&F Nights donate 50% of the night’s sales after 5pm to a selected local organization, which is a great opportunity to help a group raise a lot of money quickly. Here are today’s various participating locations:

Oregon City Brewing has its Charity Pint Night kicking off at 5pm today, benefiting Make-A-Wish Oregon: “Thousands of volunteers, donors and supporters advance the Make-A-Wish®Oregon mission to grant life-changing wishes of children with critical illnesses living in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. With YOUR help, we hope to grant more than 250 wishes each year. Cheers Pioneers!” $1 from every pint sold will be donated.

Boneyard Beer (Bend) is holding a fundraiser at its Pub tonight from 5 to 7pm for Rainshadow Organics: “In early March, Rainshadow Organics lost our biggest greenhouse due to the amount of snow we all received in Central Oregon. We’re taking immediate action to rebuild what they lost. We need Central Oregon’s community’s support! We’re reaching out to everyone who supports small farms and community supported agriculture (CSA). Stop by Boneyard Beer in Bend on April 30th between 5:00pm and 7:00pm to learn more, and support our farm!”

Stickmen Brewing (Lake Oswego) has a triple IPA now in 16 ounce cans: “S.M.A.C : Golden color with a light white head and some haze from the huge hop additions. Citrus, pine, and tropical fruit aroma and flavor. Hops (S.imcoe, M.osaic, A.marillo, C.itra) explode from the glass! ABV 10% IBU 74”

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is Seasons of the Sun: “A blend of sour blond and wheat ales aged for over two years in oak wine barrels and foudres with grapefruit peel, orange peel, lemon peel, Willamette Valley Chardonnay grapes and wild flower honey. Blended in collaboration with our friends at Brewing Költur of Hölö, Sweden, Seasons of the Sun is a light and refreshing blend with a striking orange hue reminiscent of the flames of the bonfires set to commemorate the ancient spring festival of Valborg celebrated across Sweden every April 30th.”

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene) has its new beer out today: “Rimmed with salt and punctuated with juicy limes, Miel Mi Amor – Oakshire’s Amber Mexican Lager – brings together Vienna malts, Mexican Mesquite honey, and German-grown Saaz hops for a crisp, refreshing beer primed for patio consumption ☀️ (and just in time for our Sunday Cinco de Mayo party!)”
