Oregon Beer, The Bier SteinHappy Hump Day! I hope your week is going well and you’re ready for some beer news, ’cause here it is for this Wednesday, March 7. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated also.

Here’s an event that snuck up on me: The Bier Stein in Eugene is holding a tapping of Pliny the Younger today—though by the time they’d posted the event online, it was already marked as “sold out”! I suppose you could stop by today and see if you can still get in… Here are the details: “Tickets are [were] $10 and guarantee you one .25L glass of Pliny The Younger. We will also have Blind Pig, Pliny the Elder, and vintage kegs of Consecration and Supplication on tap. You may purchase up to 5 tickets, but only 1 ticket can be redeemed per person. $4 of your ticket price will be donated to the Ocean Blue Project to help clean up our oceans and beaches. Thank You!”

Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland) has a new beer release today, Mild Child, with the release event taking place from 5 to 7pm: “Originally brewed for the She Brew Beer Festival 2018 by all women brewers: Brandie Ettinger, Danielle Redman, Nina Houts, and McKenna Ganz. On March 07 we will tap Mild Child at all three of our pubs. Join the brew team at our SE Portland brewpub after their shift at 5pm for a pint! This English-style Dark Mild is what we imagine might have resembled an original alewife brew: light bodied with a chewy caramel malt profile and very minimal hop bitterness. And at under 4% ABV, this beer is so drinkable that you may be mildly tempted to have a second one.”

The Growler Guys – Portland South Waterfront location is hosting Level Beer for a meet the brewer night today from 5 to 7pm: “Join us, March 7th from 5-7, for a fun filled night with the Brewer’s from Level Beer. We will have three of their delicious beers on tap and they will talk to you about the beers. Buy their beer and have a chance to win some swag. It is sure to be fun evening! Cheers!”

Ridgewalker Brewing (Forest Grove) is hosting a tap takeover with Ecliptic Brewing tonight from 6 to 9pm: “Ridgewalker Brewing is proud to announce our Ecliptic Brewing Tap Takeover! We will have several taps dedicated to some Ecliptic Brews as well as raffle prizes and merch! Come hangout and taste some amazing beers!”

Three Creeks Brewing (Sisters) has a saison on draft now you should check out. “Our Saison reflects a classic farmhouse ale born long ago in the French & Belgian Countryside, then migrating to American farmlands. Enjoy enticing notes of banana, nutmeg & clove born from the farmhouse yeast strain, subtle tart & spiciness from the addition of rye malt, and a touch of citrus from Simcoe, Eureka and Crystal hops.”
