Binary Brewing to open a pub

Portland’s Binary Brewing will be opening a pub in Old Town Beaverton this year, Willamette Week reports.

The once-tiny Binary Brewing, located at the border of Beaverton and Southwest Portland, says upgrading to a full production facility is necessary in order to keep up with demand. Slated to be up and running by mid-to-late summer inside the former Beaverton Bakery building, the business will grow from a seven-barrel brewhouse to a 10-barrel system with enough fermentation vessels to more than quadruple production. The new space is also expected to house a canning line down the road.

Plywood Pilsner from Montavilla in cans

Montavilla Brew Works, in Portland, announced the return of its Plywood Pilsner which will get the can treatment. From the blog post:

Plywood Pilsner is back in cans and we couldn’t be more excited for this one. Each year we brew this Pilsner lager with our friends at Mr. Plywood. Since before the day we opened MBW, the folks at Mr. Plywood have been awesome neighbors, helpful professionals and good friends. They’ve helped us out of a more than a couple tight spots and so we decided to commemorate this recipe to them. This time around, the brew consists of German Pilsner malt, German lager yeast and fresh, fruity and oh-so-floral Oregon-grown Santiam hops from our friends at Indie Hops.

The beer can be ordered from the brewery’s online shop.

Vice Brewing to move into a new location

Vice Brewing of Grants Pass recently closed the doors on its first location, and had been working on plans to relocate. Today the brewery announced on Facebook that the move is a go:

Today we got approved by the state of Oregon for our new location!!!! We still have some minor work to do as well as a few more licenses to get but we are on the track to opening in sometime in March! Will be able to give a exact time as we get closer.

The new location is the corner of 6th Street and E Street in downtown Grants Pass, right on the main drag through downtown.
