A package from northern California’s Lost Coast Brewery arrived this weekend, containing three beers: Revenant IPA, Fogcutter Double IPA, and Imperial Stout. This is the first time I’ve received beers from Lost Coast, so I’m looking forward to reviewing these.
Bottles of the latest limited release cider from 2 Towns Ciderhouse arrived last week, their seasonal made with Yellow Maracuyá passion fruit, apples (of course), and D’Anjou pears. According to the press release, there are 1.3 pound of fruit (presumably the passion fruit and possibly the pear) per gallon. Should be … Continue reading
Technically this should have read “Cold Brew 2.0” but Rogue actually sent me that beer, which is a blonde ale made with cold-brewed Stumptown coffee, along with an original Cold Brew coffee IPA. And a coffee cup, along with a Stumptown pin. I’ve not had the original Cold Brew from … Continue reading
A couple of beers came into my possession this week from Bend breweries: Deschutes Brewery Swivelhead Red and 10 Barrel Brewing Pyka. Two packages arrived for the weekend: new cans of Deschutes Brewery beer and two bottles of 2 Towns Ciderhouse‘s latest year-round cider. Seeing these cans in person reinforces my opinion that this is really handsome packaging, and the current Deschutes labels and branding are terrific in can format. The beer … Continue reading
Newport, Oregon’s Rogue Ales sent me some beer this week, and I was simply expecting their 2018 Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout—instead, what came was one of the largest and most elaborate packages I’ve received in recent times. Three bottles from Deschutes Brewery arrived this week: two 12-ounce bottles of Hop Henge Imperial IPA, and one 12-ounce of Red Chair NWPA. The Hop Henge surprised me as I thought it was draft-only this time around. Always a fun beer, and just in time for Christmas!
On Friday I received two bottles of 10 Barrel Brewing‘s latest pub exclusive beer, Beernog, which is also available in bottles (at the pubs). A creation of Shawn Kelso, head brewer at their Boise pub, this is a monster of a strong winter ale at 11.9% abv, and has holiday … Continue reading
