Last month, the Bend Resilience Brew Fest took place here in Bend, featuring 18 (mostly) local breweries all pouring their versions of Resilience Butte County Proud IPA, the beer and recipe first brewed by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company to raise money for the Camp Fire Relief Fund.

For a quick refresher: The Camp Fire Relief Fund was established by Sierra Nevada to raise money for the victims of Northern California’s terrible and deadly Camp Fire which tore through the state in November. Sierra Nevada also brewed Resilience IPA with the intent to donate 100% of the proceeds from sales to the fund, and asked every brewery in America to do the same.

Bend’s festival was an opportunity for the local breweries that had already brewed Resilience IPA to get together and raise even more money for the cause. Most of the breweries were local, though 1188 Brewing from John Day was present, and Sierra Nevada Brewing also made a special trip here. All of the proceeds from the festival were donated.

A couple of weeks ago the tally for the festival came in, and it turns out that the Brew Fest raised over $39,000 for Camp Fire relief! I had a chance to attend the check presentation and photo shoot at the Les Schwab Amphitheater (where the Fest took place), which was presented by Bend’s Summit Bank and the Central Oregon Brewers Guild.

The final tally? $39,305.21. That’s pretty amazing!
