Silver Moon Brewing new packaging and beer releases

Silver Moon year round can lineup

Silver Moon Brewing in Bend, Oregon, has been quietly turning out some quality beers and expanding their footprint over the past several years, and in recent weeks this has included a refresh on the brand. In particular, their 22-ounce bottles are getting new labels, and Mango Daze Pale Ale is joining the year round can lineup.

Silver Moon Brewing new bottle labels

I really like the new labels, it brings the 22-ounce bottles more in line with the overall branding and the design that appears on the cans. You can see the new packaging on the website. Also notable is the addition of two new bottled beers to their “Lunar” (i.e. seasonal) series: Ahh… Freak Out! Oatmeal Pale Ale, and Salty Bog Cranberry Gose.

And speaking of (new) beer releases, here are the latest:

  • Today (Wednesday, January 25) is the Robbie Burns Night release of their Scottish style ale, Skara Brae. It’s a party starting at 6pm with bagpipes, haggis, poetry, and a growler raffle. Skara Brae, incidentally, is the same recipe as last year’s Elf Brew.
  • Friday, January 27 is the release party for Ahh… Freak Oat! with a ’70s-themed disco party. This Oatmeal Pale Ale is 5.2% abv and 35 IBUs, and in their newsletter Silver Moon described it as having “A nice hoppy flavor & aroma with a mouthfeel so creamy, you’d swear it was on nitro!” It will be generally available on February 1st.
  • Also highlighted in their newsletter is the (updated) bottled version of Crazy Horse Double IPA, which will be on shelves February 1st also. Crazy Horse is 8.9% abv and 100 IBUs.
