McMenamins’ 23rd annual Olympic Club Brewfest takes place this weekend—Friday the 19th (today) and Saturday the 20th—at the Olympic Club in Centralia, Washington. Like McMenamins other festivals, there’s a mix of other McMenamins breweries as well as regional guest breweries (and cideries) invited to pour at the event, and a glance at the beer list reveals a nice lineup.

The Brewfest begins at 5pm today (Friday), and at 1pm Saturday, and lasts until 11pm each night. Naturally there will be live music as well, and Saturday will offer up an additional whiskey tasting if you’re so inclined. Cost is $25 for the glass and 10 tokens.

The “ride the rails” part? McMenamins has teamed up with Amtrak Cascades to offer vouchers to get you there. That would be fun to do at least once.

Here’s the press release I had received:

Spring is in the air and there’s nothing better than pairing fresh floral blooms with a big ole’ pint of craft beer, right? Especially when there’s outdoor patios involved.

For anyone looking to post up on a patio with a beer in hand, the 23rd annual Olympic Club Brewfest in Centralia, Wash. is the spot. For TWO-days on April 19 and 20, visitors can take a train right to Olympic Club’s door and sample craft ales from brewers across Washington and Oregon at various locations, including McMenamins.

Wash down a fresh pint with some of “the world’s best baked beans” or taste test specials from the open-pit barbecue. Challenge your friends to a round of pool or curl up beside the cozy fire pit. Take a moment to honor the past, by checking out how McMenamins has preserved the venue’s railway bootlegging, secret call buttons, hidden tunnels and rumored hauntings.

Need to ride the rails to get there? McMenamins and Amtrak Cascades have teamed up to offer 2-for-1 vouchers, available at any McMenamins. For rail tickets, see amtrackcascades.com; restrictions and blackout dates apply.

I had a chance to visit the Olympic Club briefly last year, and had a beer and a bit to eat on my way through town. Here are some photos:
