Received: Tsingtao Premium Lager

Received: Tsingtao Premium Lager

Here’s a beer I hadn’t thought about in a while: Tsingtao Premium Lager, imported from the second-largest brewery in China. Paulaner USA picked up the exclusive import rights for Tsingtao to the U.S., and sent out samples bottles to review, which I received last week.

I haven’t had a Tsingtao since probably 2007, so I’m curious what I’ll think of it now.

The “about” blurb that accompanied the PR email from Paulaner USA says:

Tsingtao is brewed using a prolonged fermentation process to create a crisp, refreshing beer with malty aroma and a well-balanced taste. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process. 4.7% ABV | IBU 19

I’ll have a new review for it out soon.
