Oregon Beer: Ebenezer Pub CrawlHere is the Oregon beer news for this Thursday, December 6, rounding up the news and events in beer from around the state. As usual, I’ll be updating this post periodically throughout the day with the latest news, so check back in from time to time.

Tonight, the 10th annual Ebenezer Ale Pub Crawl kicks off at 5pm at John’s Marketplace in Portland. BridgePort Brewing, maker of Ebenezer Ale, brings the annual event to Multnomah Village every year, which includes a passport to fill out for prizes. “Festivities will kick off at John’s Marketplace from 5pm-6pm. featuring the Dickens Carolers of Portland. From there, guests will stop at Jimmy’s Bar & Grill, Journey’s, and The Ship Tavern. Guests who complete their full Ebenezer passport will qualify for various prizes. The crawl is free and guests can pay as they go.”

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting an Oregon Brewshed Alliance Tap Takeover tonight starting at 6pm: “Many of Oregon’s favorite breweries are part of the Oregon Brewshed Alliance, a coalition of Oregon brewers, community partners, and conservationists who work to draw the connection between healthy forest watersheds and the beer we enjoy… Because great beer doesn’t start at the tap – great beer begins with clean water! On Thursday, December 6, The Bier Stein will feature a tap takeover of Oregon Brewshed Alliance partners’ brews. Come share a pint (or two!) of these fantastic beers, play “Brewshed Trivia” to win great prizes between 6 and 8pm, and learn more about the Oregon Brewshed Alliance.”

Portland’s Imperial Bottle Shop on Division is hosting a Pelican Brewing specialty beer tasting and Bad Santa giveaway from 6 to 9pm: “Stop by to try some specialty beers from Pelican Brewing Company and get a chance to win a present from Bad Santa! [Beers will be] available by the glass or as a 4-beer sampler tray. Get a raffle ticket with every Pelican purchase and you’ll have a chance at winning an early Christmas present. But watch out, Bad Santa could give you some cool Pelican merch or a crappy piece of coal. We hope you were good this year!”

Corvallis’ Block 15 Brewery will be at N.W.I.P.A. in Portland tonight for the release of its Fresh Pow IPA and a tap takeover: “Stoked to have Block 15 back for a tap takeover with ten beers showcasing their amazing depth as a brewery. We are featuring their newest seasonal IPA, Fresh Pow and the first keg of Hoppy Holidays to reach PDX!! Line up includes faves Sticky Hands, Alpha, Fluffhead, DAB LAB Mosaic, Gloria, Maple, Ferme de la Ville and their newest Brute IPA Sparkle, Viognier edition. Limited cans of Fresh Pow and Hoppy Holidays will be available and snacks will be provided! StormBreaker Brewing (Portland): Tonight is the release of the brewery’s 2019 Winter Coat, and its barrel aged edition: “It might not feel like it, but winter is here! Join us as we celebrate our 2019 Winter Coat, now with marionberries, and last year’s Coat aged on @bullrundistilling bourbon barrels for 12 months. Buy 3 or more bottles to go and you may walk home with your very own Winter Coat (or as we like call them, a StormBreaker Storm Breaker). Buy 2 or more and get a slick WC beer poster while supplies last.”

Ecliptic Brewing (Portland) is releasing a new beer, Luna Kölsch. From the press release: “Ecliptic Brewing is exploring a classic style with their first seasonal beer of 2019. Luna Kölsch will release in early January and will be available through mid March. The beer’s delicate fruitiness, and clean, dry finish is the perfect kick off to the new year. “We are excited to share our take on the traditional German style,” explained John Harris, Ecliptic Brewing Owner and Brewmaster. “We think a Kölsch’s brightness and easy drinkability resonates year round.” Luna Kölsch will be released in both draft and 6-pack cans in all of the Ecliptic Brewing distribution network.”

Caldera Brewing (Ashland) has its Resilience IPA on tap now: “Caldera is proud to offer #ResilienceIPA with 100% of the proceeds going to The Camp Fire Relief Fund. Come on in and have a Pint on Draft or Cask!” You should definitely try it on cask, although getting both draft and cask for a side-by-side comparison would help even more!

Immersion Brewing (Bend) has a new barrel-aged stout available: “Embrace the chill with our First Snow Barrel Aged Imperial Stout aged for 10 months in a special whiskey barrel from a collaboration between East Bend Liquor Store and Oregon Spirit Distillers.”
