Oregon Beer, Oregon City BrewingHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, December 4. As usual I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with news and events as I discover them, so check back often for the latest. And if you have any news to share, please feel free to contact me and I can get that posted too.

Oregon City Brewing has its weekly Charity Pint Night this evening starting at 5pm, benefiting PDX Diaper Bank: “Grab your family & friends and drop by Oregon City Brewing Company to support PDX Diaper Bank (anytime between 5-10pm)! $1 from every OCB pint, taster tray, soda, crowler, and growler purchase will be donated to our mission. Like free beer? All of our $25+ Give Guide donors for the evening can enjoy an OCB pint on us!”

Old Town Brewing (Portland) has a new beer in its “Explorer’s Club” series coming out today: Borneo Hazy IPA. “This hoppy, hazy brew features a wealth of big juicy flavors with notes of tropical sherbet, creamy pineapple, and ripe pear. It’ll be hitting the shelves starting next week or you can come grab yours fresh off the line on Tuesday morning (11:30am) at the brewery NE location. Both pubs will have it in stock immediately!”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit organization. In Bend at the Pub and Tasting Room, the beneficiary is Friends of the Children. At the Portland Pub, the beneficiary is the Chill Foundation. Drinking a pint or three is an easy way to help raise some money for organizations that could use it, so make sure to stop in and do so!

Wild Ride Brewing (Redmond) is releasing its Resilience IPA today at its tap room! This was brewed in conjunction with the Camp Fire relief effort led by Sierra Nevada Brewing, and Wild Ride will donate 100% of the sales of the beer to Camp Fire relief. Make sure to go and drink this beer!

Conversion Brewing (Lebanon): The brewery’s monthly Head to Head beer tasting/pairing takes place today, starting at 7pm: “We will pit two beers in the same style against each other and see who comes out on top. This is a blind beer tasting with food pairing and we will have an open discussion about the beers and what we like about them. Cost is $10 and will include 2 samples of Winter Ale, special food pairing samples and a small pour of a Conversion beer. Must be 21.”

Ascendant Beer Company (Portland) has a new beer now on tap: “Let us introduce you to the not-so-understated Peachy Charro. An enormous Triple IPA brewed with all the juicy citrusy hops and peach purée, aged on charred oak. Now on tap!”

Ordnance Brewing (Boardman) has a big beer ready to go — Collusion Imperial Stout with Rye. “Rich roast, dark fruits, hints of vanilla and rye. Crafted, aged, and blended, with you in mind. Dangerously well-balanced and smooth. Go ahead, deceive your taste buds, leave them wanting more. A devious collaboration between Jenn and Jeremie of McPoLanders Brewing and the Ordnance Brewing Team. Once it’s gone, we’ll deny it was ever here. ABV: 9.5%, IBU: 55”

In yesterday’s news post I reported that Klamath Basin Brewing has released Belznickel, which turns out to be a collaboration beer with Medford’s Walkabout Brewing, which also released its version yesterday: “Belznickel is nigh! Today is the day we release The Belznickel at our Tasting Room! This limited collaboration with Klamath Basin Brewing is a %9.2 Belgian Stout aged in Syrah Wine Barrels sourced from Folin Cellars. This delicious brew will not last long so get some before its gone!”

Santiam Brewing (Salem) has a limited release coming up this Saturday to check out: “Pirate Stout, Govna’s Reserve 2018 is released this Saturday. This is a very limited release of 100% barrel aged imperial strength Pirate Stout. Only 94 cases made. 60 cases were released to our national sales partner. 5 cases were released to our local resellers, 5 cases go to our cellar, and one case will be split to vertical flight packages (see upcoming post), leaving just 23 cases for the tasting room. $16 per bottle, $192 per case, limit 1 case per person. You may call or stop by the tasting room to reserve your bottle/case to pick up on Saturday. No pre pays, and any not picked up Saturday will be sold.”
