Oregon Beer, Belmont StationHappy December! Did you get a chance to visit the Holiday Ale Festival this past weekend in Portland, or at least drink some winter seasonal beer? If not there are plenty of opportunities coming up, and I’m rounding a few up in this Oregon beer news post for Monday, December 3, highlighting news and events for today and later this week. I’ll be updating this post throughout the day with the latest, so check back in from time to time to catch up.

Portland’s Belmont Station will be pouring some exclusive bottles and drafts from Jester King Brewery all day today starting at noon: “Over the last few years we’ve seen a number of Jester King’s bottles come and go from our shelves, and we are excited and humbled for another opportunity to showcase some of the country’s best farmhouse beers to the Oregon market. We will have a few special kegs as well as some rare and very special, ON-SITE ONLY bottles for your imbibing pleasure. These bottles are extremely limited so get here ASAP so you can enjoy one of the most unique “Méthode Gueuze” beers produced in the country.”

Sunriver Brewing‘s pop-up pub at Lardo Sandwiches in Portland continues today, and will be running through Wednesday. There are several seasonally-appropriate beer fests coming up later this week:

Our yearly Humbug Lager Fest will be stocked with lagers from Occidental and other great breweries from Portland and beyond. There will be a wide range of beers, light to dark, easy drinking to strong and bold, ALL LAGERS.”

From the Farmers Market, community clothing closet, storefront improvement grants to advocating for affordable housing and services, SJCO is an important asset in our community. We’re very excited and thankful to have over 30 breweries donating including Block 15, Gigantic, Logsdon, Ecliptic, Base Camp, Swift, and Lompoc.”

The 10th annual Ebenezer Ale Pub Crawl hosted by Portland’s BridgePort Brewing takes place this Thursday the 6th in Multnomah Village, starting at John’s Marketplace. Being a Scrooge isn’t all bad! Cascade Brewing (Portland) celebrates 20 years this Friday! In addition to the anniversary party taking place at The Lodge (formerly the Raccoon Lodge) the brewery exclusively releases its Bourbonic Plague 2016 in bottles and on draft (and will be available at the Barrel House on the 10th). “The Cascade Brewing 20-Year Celebration will take place on Friday, Dec. 7, from 5pm to 10pm at the Lodge at Cascade Brewing (formerly the Raccoon Lodge and Brewpub, which was rebranded in 2017), located at 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy. The evening will feature raffles, games, cupcakes, brewery tours, a birthday toast, and select menu items from the brewery’s 1998 menu. Guests can enjoy 90s music on the stereo, and chat with Larrance and Cascade’s brewing team. The event is for ages 21+ in the downstairs Den; minors are welcome upstairs in the restaurant.”

Vanguard Brewing (Wilsonville) has a new Christmas-y dessert beer out: “New beer alert! Reminiscent of Christmas baking, Cranberry Cringle is a sweet dessert Imperial Stout. You’ll taste lots of roasty sweetness and cinnamon spice with an ever so slight hint of cranberry in this limited release beer brewed for the 2018 Holiday Ale Festival.”

Klamath Basin Brewing (Klamath Falls) has a new release today: Belznickel, a red wine barrel-aged Belgian stout: “Belznickle is a character that brings gifts to the good but will drub the naughty. Inspired by this, Klamath Basin Brewing, in collaboration with Walkabout Brewing, wanted to produce a beer with that persona. What came to be is a Belgian Stout aged in Syrah barrels sourced from another Southern Oregon producer, Folin Cellars. The complexity of flavors is a true gift if you are good, but the naughty should beware of Belznickle’s switch. ABV: 9.2%, IBU’s: 40”

Silver Moon Brewing (Bend) posted an update about this year’s F*Cancer fundraiser: “Thrilled to formally announce that with your help we raised over $50K for the American Cancer Society this year with F* Cancer IPA!!! Thank you to each and every person that contributed, has been affected and continues to fight. We are starting to collect names for our 2019 bottle already; head to http://bit.ly/fcancer19 to submit yourself or a loved one. Get those middle fingers ready because we are already planning for making 2019 even bigger!”
