Oregon Beer, Lompoc BrewingIt’s not apropos to beer, but today is National Vodka Day, celebrating the clear spirit occasionally known as the water of life. While I don’t have any vodka related news, I do have Oregon beer news to share for this Thursday, October 4. I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back in from time to time with the latest (non-vodka) news.

It’s Halloween season: Lompoc Brewing releases Monster Mash today! “Join us on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Sidebar from 4pm to close for the release of our Monster Mash Imperial Porter. Monster Mash features a full-bodied, full-flavored mash up of a half dozen dark specialty malts, including chocolate, rauch and kilned coffee grains. The malty sweetness is balanced nicely with the bitter notes of dark chocolate and coffee, alongside Centennial, Cascade and Willamette hops. At 8.1% ABV, it’s a monster indeed! We’ll also be serving Lomporter (2018 GABF Gold Medal Winner), Proletariat Red, 2013 Old Tavern Rat, 2017 Viognier Saison, 2017 This Wit Is Ananas, Brain Cloud IPA, CMC Beer Factory IPA, Oktoberfest, Fresh Cent Fresh Hop Pale Ale, Old Friends Farmhouse Ale & Cider Riot Everyday Passionfruit Cider.”
