Oregon Beer, Von Ebert BrewingHere is the Oregon beer news for this first Wednesday of October, the 3rd. As usual I’ll be periodically updating this as I’m able throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news.

Von Ebert Brewing (Portland) is hosting Vontoberfest in the Pearl today, celebrating the spirit of the season with a specialty beer and more at its Pearl District location: “Join us for a very special Vontoberfest! We’re excited to kickoff this event with the release of a special Vonebertfest Beer served in a Stein Society stein! Each stein is only $2.50! Wear lederhosen or dirndl for a Von Ebert shirt and half off your meal! There will be a special food menu with a sausage plate consisting of 3 different sausages served with sauerkraout & sautéed onions, a Giant Pretzel and Smoke Turkey legs! Prost!”

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting a Weihenstephan Pairing Dinner this evening from 6 to 8:30pm: “We’ve partnered with the world’s oldest brewery to host a 6 course pairing dinner for you on Wednesday, October 3rd, from 6 – 8:30 pm. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased in person behind the bar, or online here: https://weihenstephan.brownpapertickets.com” The menu is posted and may be subject to minor changes, but overall looks pretty delicious.

pFriem Family Brewers (Hood River): The brewery announced its fall releases today: Extra Pale, Dank IPA and Export Lager. Short details: “Extra Pale – Hops include Citra, Mosaic, Equinox and Chinook. This strong pale ale is bright golden with an amber hue. Extra Pale finishes piney and slightly tangy. ABV 6.5%, IBU 45.
Dank IPA – Ample hops include Chinook, Mosaic, Citra, Warrior, Nelson Sauvin and Columbus. Dank aromas of peach, mango, papaya, and blueberry. Bright flavors of lychee fruit, grapefruit, and light candy maltiness. Finishes piney, with a touch of grapefruit rind, fresh and super hoppy! ABV 7.8%, IBU 70.
Export Lager – Aromas of lightly toasted bread, wildflowers, and a hint of white grape converge in this cross between a Helles and a Pilsner. Hops include Perle, Saaz and Tettnanger. Bright golden with dense white foam. ABV 5.7%, IBU 20.”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): The tasting room on Colorado will be previewing Jubelale today! “Sneak peek at this year’s Jubelale! Ths Tasting Room will be pouring (and selling) this festive winter ale starting today. ABV: 6.7%, IBU: 65” And, it’s also on tap now at the Bend Pub.

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting the release of a collaboration brew from Heater Allen Brewing and Wayfinder Beer: “Join the crews from both Wayfinder and Heater Allen as we help release their latest collaboration, Smoked Helles! We also will be pouring other great beers from both breweries! Keep an eye on the live tap list on our website for details!” Tonight from 5 to 8pm.

Beergarden in Eugene continues its Oktoberfest, featuring Falling Sky Brewing in the house with Cloud Gazer Oktoberfest, fresh hop beer(s), and more.

Brewery 26 (Portland) has a new IPA now available: “How about this! A non hazy IPA! Crispy Clean IPA. Now available. 7.2%, 68 IBU’s. Loaded with Eukanot, Mosaic, Amarillo and Citra hops. Available at high quality spots and more available to send out. Cheers!”

Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland) has its own new IPA out now: “Robot Truckers Hazy IPA is the newest in our rotating Hazy IPA lineup. Dry-hopped with huge amounts of Denali and Mosaic, this beer is big on pineapple and tangerine aroma and flavor. Take home a limited 4-pack while it lasts!”
