Oregon Beer, Belmont StationWho’s ready for some Oregon beer news? It’ll help Thursday go by faster as we head towards the end of the week! Here you are—and I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back in from time to time for the latest.

Belmont Station is teaming up with Widmer Brothers Brewing to host the release party for the Widmer Collaboration beer, RaspBEERy Lemonade, today from 5 to 8pm: “Join The good folks of Widmer Brother and Sean Sanders, winner of the 2017 Collaborator home brew competition, for the tapping of RaspBEERy Lemonade. Sean created a very unique beer perfect for the warmer months. The commercial descriptions reads as such: “RaspBEERy Lemonade is an American wheat beer best enjoyed on a hot summer day. Fresh raspberry puree and frozen lemonade concentrate pitched mid fermentation create a fun color and flavor profile that will charm your senses and leave onlookers curious.” So come down raise a pint for Sean and consider for yourself entering this legendary Home Brew Competition.”

Saraveza (Portland) is hosting Vancouver’s Fortside Brewing for a tasting starting at 7pm: “On Thursday, September 6th from 7-9 PM Vancouver’s own Fortside Brewing are coming across the river to spend an evening with us at Saraveza! We’ll have 5 of their beers on tap including:
FORTSIDE IPA – Their flagship IPA – 6.9% ABV
ORANGE WHIP – A juicy IPA w/ heaps of El Dorado and Mosaic hops – 5.9% ABV
FORTSIDE FEST – An Oktoberfest Marzen
EAST SIDE ALT – An Alt-bier for the East Sider in all of us
2017 BARREL-FIED – An extra rare, super tasty, barrel-aged Imperial Stout
Head Brewer and co-owner Mike DiFabio and Brewery Rep. Bryce Cloutier will be on hand to cheers, ask questions, and thank for braving the traffic clog that is the I-5.”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): The Tasting Room in Bend (at the production brewery) released a small-batch Dortmunder lager yesterday, Decoctless Dortmunder, that sounds worth investigating: “From the brain of our brewer Ryan Kern comes this uncommon beer style. Taking inspiration from Bohemian Pilsners with a bump in ABV, this supremely drinkable Dortmunder delivers delicious flavors of baked bread with minimal noble hop aroma. Despite its goofy name, this beer is clean and beautifully simple. ABV: 6%, IBU: 22.”

The BeerMongers 9th anniversary week continues with its 9th anniversary cellar sale taking place all day today. Per Brewpublic: “Sean Campbell, proprietor of The BeerMongers will dig deep through his cellar to find some great beers to sell by the bottle and to tap. Swing by throughout the day to see which cellared beers are for sale.”

Eugene’s Ninkasi Brewing has its Pints for a Cause fundraiser today, benefiting Cascadia Wildlands: “Join us at the Tasting Room for Pints for a Cause! From noon to 10pm, $1 from every pint sold in the Tasting Room will go to Cascadia Wildlands. ‘Cascadia Wildlands defends and restores Cascadia’s wild ecosystems in the forests, in the courts, and in the streets.'” Worth a pint or three to help out!

And speaking of Ninkasi, the brewery teamed up with Bend’s Oblivion Brewing recently to brew up a collaboration beer: “Last week we had the opportunity to host Daniel from Ninkasi Brewing for a special collaboration day at Oblivion Brewing Co. We are super excited to introduce this beer to our industry friends at the upcoming Retreat 4 Roses!” Retreat 4 Roses is apparently a retreat for bartenders and hospitality-industry pros that takes place at Silver Falls State Park each year. Not sure if we’ll see some of this beer appear anywhere else?

The Uptown Market in Lake Oswego is hosting a tap takeover with Portland’s Occidental Brewing tonight starting at 6pm: “Occidental Brewing Company is joining us this Thursday for a Tap Takeover. We’ll be partying from 6-8 to sample their German style beers so come on by for a good time.”

The Hoppy Brewer (Gresham) is bringing the fresh hops today! “To celebrate the season of FRESH HOP BEERS, we’ll have 6 kegs of the Fresh Hop variety today including: Pilsner by Level Beer, FreshCent by Bent Shovel Brewing, Stay Fresh by Breakside Brewery, Fresh Hop IPA, by Two Beers Brewing Co., Pert Near Fresh Hop by Crux Fermentation Project and Razz Wheat w/ Fresh Raspberries from Vertigo Brewing.”

Running Dogs Brewery (St. Helens) has its monthly Charity Pint Night this evening, benefiting the St. Helens Senior Center: “If you know us then you know we love to give back and build the community. Charity Pint Nights have been in the works for some time now and we are super excited to bring them to you. We will start with the first Thursday of the Month from 6-8:30. $1 from every pint sale will go back to the Charity of choice for that month. Septembers proceeds will go to the St. Helens Senior Center.”

Fort George Brewery (Astoria) has its latest Sweet Virginia Series bottled beer coming out: Dragon Bone. “This collaboration is with Scarlet Lane Brewing Company, or more specifically Elise Lane Servies. She interned at Fort George before heading off to Indiana to start her own brewery. Dragon Bone is an 8.5% ABV, mixed-culture saison brewed with ginger and honey (from both Indiana and an Astoria beekeeper). Aged for a year in French oak wine barrels, it’s now ready to take home, to Indiana or just around the corner.” It drops on Friday the 14th.

Worthy Brewing (Bend) has a new beer on tap at its brewpub: “Rose All Day / 4.9 ABV 20 IBU. This beer is our Pilsner with an elevated brewing technique which incorporates fresh rose hips, hibiscus & raspberries. Mildly sweet with a sassy tart finish.”
