Oregon Beer, Deschutes BreweryHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday. July 17. As usual, I will be periodically updating this news post with the latest items as I find them, so check back from time to time for updates. And of course if you have news to share, please let me know and I can post that as well.

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit. In Bend for July, the brewery is benefiting Heart of Oregon Corps (at both the Bend Pub and the Tasting Room). In Portland, the Pub is benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children. Good causes all around, so make sure to head over to Deschutes and help out with a pint or three.

Oregon City Brewing has its Charity Pint Night tonight benefiting the Clackamas River Basin Council: “Let’s help some salmon! Our Charity Pint Night for July 17th is the Clackamas River Basin Council. They’re partnering with the Greater Oregon City Watershed Council, the North Clackamas Urban Watersheds Council, and the Johnson Creek Watershed Council to submit a grant for instream salmon habitat creation projects. So raise a pint and drink like a fish FOR the fish! Cheers, Pioneers!” Pint night starts at 5pm.

Sedition Brewing (The Dalles): The brewery’s monthly Liquid Education Beer School takes place tonight starting at 5:30pm: “Want to learn more about the beverage we know and love, craft beer? This free event is a great way to stop in and sample a few of our offerings while learning about the beer, process, and the brewer behind the beer. For this month’s class we’ll be sampling two new beers that have been released since our last meeting. Dirty Thoughts Hazy IPA and Celilo Special Session IPA, and use these to learn more about beer style terminology.”

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring Marionberry Spritzer: “A blend of sour blond and wheat ales aged in oak wine barrels for up to 16 months followed by a fermentation with Oregon grown marionberries. Added to the mix is a splash of the same base beers aged with chardonnay grapes that helps to round out and lift the big berry aroma and flavor and provides a tart, crisp finish. Marionberry Spritzer will help to cool things down in the middle of this scorching summertime heat wave.”

Von Ebert Brewing (Portland) has a new brut IPA out: “Sabrage is our new brut IPA. It’s name comes from the act of slicing open a champagne bottle with a cutlet or sword. You don’t need any sharp objects to enjoy this IPA’s crisp dryness and citrus hop bouquet!”

Solera Brewery (Parkdale) released its 2018 Peche Cuvée the other day: “2018 Peche Cuvée. Bottles and draught available today! 50% 2016 from @ransomspirits Rye Whiskey barrels, 50% 2017 from @maryhillwinery Pinot Noir barrels, 100% fresh Red Haven peaches from @mtvieworchards .” Definitely one to pick up if you can.
