Oregon Beer, Belmont StationHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, April 2. As usual, I’ll be updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. And if you have any news to share, feel free to contact me and I can get that posted.

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting a book signing and “meet the monger” event tonight from 5 to 7pm, featuring a book that should catch your eye: “Cheese monger Steve Jones’ years-in-the-making collaboration with writer Adam Lindsley is finally here! Cheese Beer Wine Cider: A Field Guide To 75 Perfect Pairings offers a crash course in buying, storing, and serving cheese & alcohol and delivers a treasure trove of delicious and often surprising pairings that take the cheese and beverage to the stratosphere of flavor. Steve is a longtime regular here at Belmont Station, so, of course, we wanted to host a book release party! Come meet the authors, then try three special pairings specially selected by Steve for this event!” Books will be available to purchase as well, of course.

Baerlic Brewing (Portland) has a double can release today, starting at 4pm. The featured cans are Milo Oak Fermented Saison and Fuzz Box Hazy IPA. The hazy is pretty standard, but you don’t see saisons in cans often, and the brewery says, “This is a complex little beer we lovingly call Milo. It’s an homage to the descendent critters that make up our house saccharomyces saison yeast blend. Fermented wholly in oak wine casks for a more expressive yeast character and a touch of woody dryness in the finish.”

Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland) is revealing the newly remodeled North Williams Pub and Beergarden location today (formerly BikeBar) and has three new beer releases to accompany it: Reply All (hazy IPA), Oceania (imperial IPA), and Ouch! Cactus IPA (with prickly pear fruit).

Worthy Brewing (Bend): According to the latest e-newsletter, the Pink Boots Society collaboration beer the brewery brewed with PBS is on tap now: Pink Boots Tropical Stout. “The Bend Pink Boots Society (PBS) decided on a tropical stout from the unique Yakima Chief Hops blend that was created specifically for the PBS brew day. This beer starts with aromas of Oreo cookie & roasted coffee, while layers of toasted coconut, citrus & red berries work their way through, finishing dry with notes of dark chocolate & a light herbal character. Proceeds from this beer provides scholarships for women in the brewing industry. Come give it a try!”

Oregon City Brewing has its Charity Pint Night benefiting Grout School PTA. Starting at 5pm, $1 from every beer sold goes to benefit the PTA organization, so make sure to stop by and enjoy a pint or three.

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, where $1 from every pint sold benefits a local non-profit organization. In Bend, every Tuesday of April the brewery will be benefiting Healthy Beginnings at the Pub and the Tasting Room. I don’t know the beneficiary in Portland, but rest assured it will be for a good cause.

Pelican Brewing (Pacific City) has three new beers coming out (or out already): Pelican Pilsner, Fly’N Dry Brut IPA, and Katch Kölsch style ale with lemon. The Pilsner is draft only, the other two available in cans (Fly’N Dry in bottles as well) and all are year round. The Pilsner is quite tasty, I was able to sample it recently at a trade show. And I’m curious about the Katch, if it’s as good as the last Burnside Brewing’s Lime Kolsch then I’ll be happy.

Tualatin’s Ancestry Brewing has a new beer coming out today: “A new beer is being released today, made in collaboration with Team Nicholas to support the Autism Society of Oregon. Yes it’s Blue IPA will be available at Ancestry and other locations in limited quantities.” It’s not specified but I’d hope a portion of the sales will benefit the Autism Society.

Gigantic Brewing (Portland): It’s Tuesday so that means First Taste Tuesday at the taproom: “Today’s #firsttastetuesday is Hustle, a tropical juicy IPA. We brewed it with hard-to-get Southern Passion and African Queen hops and smoothed things out with a little bit of flaked wheat.”

Yachats Brewing has a new session IPA out to enjoy: “It may seem like a moody little Tuesday, but we’ve got some awesomeness brewing in town! Come on by for a pint of our newest brew: Thoors Light-on Nitro! ABV-4.3%. Thoor’s Light is a lower alcohol version of our ever popular Thor’s Well IPA. Stone fruit and pine aromas are blended harmoniously with @meccagrade malts for a crisp finish and light body. @cascadehopfarm Hash leaves a nice resinous aftertaste without overpowering the other tasty hops. This crisp little number is on nitro, and can be found at the end of our tap list at #30!”

Coalition Brewing (Portland) announced today that its Two Flowers IPA is now in bottles! “Probably can’t keep this secret too bottled up now that they are on the shelves at New Seasons Market. We are proud to announce that we are officially bottling our flagship CBD Beer, Two Flowers IPA! Stop by the brewery today between 3 PM – 10 PM and celebrate with a fresh pint, then mark your calendars for next Tuesday, April 9 for the Coalition Brewing Two Flowers Bottle Release happening at The Civic Taproom and Bottle Shop.”

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene) has a tropical fruity beer for you for today: “Let us transport you directly to Maui, no matter how gloomy your Tuesday might be! 🏝✈️ POG Smoothie IPA is bursting with tart passion fruit, juicy orange, sweet guava and organic whole vanilla beans, completed with a heavy-handed dry-hopping of Citra, Mosaic, and Wai-iti. At 7%, this vacation in a glass can be enjoyed indoors, outdoors, or wherever your Tommy Bahama takes you!”

Culmination Brewing (Portland) has its own new IPA on tap today: “New On Tap is Ryes Up Lights! A Rye IPA Dry Hopped with Azacca and Centennial. Stonefruit, Lime, and mild Rye Spice are the most noticeable flavors of this beer.”
