Oregon Beer, Ecliptic Brewing

Here’s the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, March 12. As usual I’ll be updating this throughout the day with the latest news as I find it, so check back often. And feel free to contact me if you have any news to share too.

Belmont Station is hosting Portland’s Ecliptic Brewing for the release of Phobos Single Hop Red in cans with an appreciation party: “The wait is over…Phobos Single Hop Red Ale in cans! Stop by on March 12th to grab Phobos in cans for the first and only time ever. In addition, we will have different versions of Phobos on draft in the Bier Cafe. John Harris and the Ecliptic gang will also be on hand to celebrate! Starting at 5PM, the first 15 people who purchase a Phobos six-pack will get a free Ecliptic pint glass filled with goodies!” There will be five draft variations of Phobos available on tap (including one with raspberry, and one that’s chili-infused). It takes place from 5 to 8pm.

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit organization. In Bend this month, both the Pub and Tasting Room are benefiting the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council. The Portland Pub hasn’t posted what org it is benefiting, so swing by and see and don’t forget to drink a pint or three.

McMenamins has a number of Friends & Family Night fundraisers taking place at various locations today. F&FN’s donate 50% of the night’s proceeds (after 5pm) to a local organization, a great way that the company gives back to the community.

Standing Stone Brewing (Ashland) has its final Pints for a Purpose fundraiser of the season tonight, benefiting the Equamore Foundation of the Rogue Valley. “Please join us Tuesday, March 12th for our Pints For A Purpose Event featuring the Equamore Foundation. For every pint sold between 5PM-10PM, $2 will be donated to their cause. Root beer is also included, so children are welcome! ‘The Equamore Foundation provides rescue and sanctuary for neglected, abused, and abandoned horses that have no other alternative for life. Each day our Sanctuary pushes back against cruelty and indifference. Our mission of kindness and respect for the dignity of all life is vital and universal.'”

Today is the soft opening for the new Sunriver Brewing Oakway Pub in Eugene. If you’re in the area, and want to check it out…

1188 Brewing (John Day) has two new beers on tap: “ON TAP – 2 NEW brews have made it to the tap just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Tura’lu is a smooth malty Irish Red and Flogging Murphys is a Dry Irish Stout that is a real easy drinker.”

Bridge 99 Brewery (Bend) has its Bog Trotter back on tap: “Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day Weekend we have a fresh batch of Bog Trotter Irish Ale on Tap! A 19th Century inspired Irish Ale is finished with buckwheat honey. It has a balanced sweetness with earthy hop undertones which come from the English Fuggle Hops. Smooth and rich warmth in a glass!”

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene) has a new beer for you: “Introducing Tail Rotor Red – a Hoppy Red Ale – Spring Seasonal Release, on draft and in bottles.”
