Cans of El Crucero Mexican Lager from Crux Fermentation Project

Beer news from Crux Fermentation Project out of Bend, Oregon on new beers and returning that are out this month! A collaboration brew, bracket-winning hazy IPA, Mexican-style lager and more highlight this spring news.

Details from the email newsletter:

BOSS BATTLE IPA
Boss Battle IPA, is a collaboration with Level Beer out of Portland. How did we come up with the name?? The two head brewers at Level Beer (Jason and Shane) used to work with Cam and Larry back in the day at Deschutes Brewery’s Portland Pub. Now they’re all bosses at their own breweries, and now they must FIGHT TO THE DEATH. (j/k) Instead, they made a real nice beer.

Boss Battle is a West Coast IPA with dank and tropical notes and a dry finish with assertive bitterness.

Look for 16oz cans in our tasting room next Friday [April 15] or pick some up at any of the Level locations in Portland!

March Madness Bracket Winner is…
BUBBLE WRAP Hazy IPA!!

We’re only a little surprised. Obviously this is a fantastic brew, we just thought you all would vote another to the top position, ::cough cough:: we’re looking at you, Tough Love or Crux Pilz.

It was a close call with some matchups. But at the end of the day, everyone loves an IPA.

The final four included:

  • Bubble Wrap
  • Half Hitch
  • Gimme Mo
  • Cast Out

Ahh, we love a good underdog story, and you, the good people have spoken.

All hail the champ!

EL CRUCERO
We just canned our Mexican-style Lager, El Crucero, for the first time this week!!

Brilliantly clear with an intriguing malt backbone, this lager is light, crispy, and delightfully refreshing. We’re thrilled to see this one in 16 oz cans, and they just landed in our tasting room!

+1 LAGER
We brewed up a special batch of our Japanese lager for Portland’s Revolution Hall and Mississippi Studios to kick off their spring concert season. We’re all calling this harmonious treat: +1 Lager (Plus One). It’s crisp, refreshing, and brewed in the Japanese-style. We used whole, not flaked, Calrose rice for an easy-drinking, light on the palate lager. +1 carries a mild floral balance for deeply vibrant and perfectly sonorous overtones. Be the first to try it when it goes on tap this Friday [April 8] at Rev Hall, just in time for the Dreckig show.

NEW MERCH!
We’re always shaking things up and we just added some new fun stuff for you!

New shirts and and hats and sweatshirts and Hydro Flask koozie cups!

IPA news gets the clicks, but personally I’m always excited to see new lagers hitting the taps and shelves.
