McMenamins Cedar Hills Pub hosts its inaugural IPA Festival, Saturday, February 8

McMenamins Cedar Hills Pub IPA Festival

Hop heads rejoice: McMenamins Cedar Hills Pub in Beaverton is set to host its first brewfest this Saturday, February 8, with its inaugural Cedar Hills Pub IPA Festival. This joins the family of McMenamins festivals with a hoppy focus, and will feature variations on IPAs from 22 McMenamins breweries. (Future iterations of this fest might see other guest breweries as well, but this first year it’s all in the family.)

India Pale Ales have come a long way from their creation in the 18th century, and although their true origin remains a little murky, one thing has become clear: In the land of craft brewing, IPA is king.

IPA’s have become so popular and renowned, they seem to almost exist in an industry all of their own. The Cedar Hills Pub IPA Festival is a celebration of all the styles that make up the IPA universe. From England to the West Coast back to New England and many locales in between, we are bringing in 22 different IPAs from 22 different McMenamins breweries to explore everything IPAs have to offer. Come experience the diverse world of hops as we present your taste buds with all the citrusy, earthy, piney, juicy, fruity, dank, floral and herbal flavors they can handle.

The IPA Fest will run all day long and there’s no charge to attend, just to sample. Details have not been posted on prices at this time, but there will be two taster trays with 11 samples each, and you’ll be able to vote on your favorite IPA. The winning beer and brewery will be announced the following Wednesday.
