Come talk Oregon Beer History this Sunday with me and Phil Busse, author of “Southern Oregon Beer”

Rast Brewery, Roseburg, OR, 1880s

This Sunday, July 14, Phil Busse, author of the new Southern Oregon Beer: A Pioneering History (in the same History Press series as my own Bend Beer) will be in Bend at Broken Top Bottle Shop to promote his book—and Phil invited me to join him with my own book for a discussion on Oregon Beer History.

A fun discussion that puts together two big puzzle pieces of Oregon’s history and beer culture. Phil Busse, author of the recently released “Southern Oregon Beer: A Pioneering History,” in conversation with Jon Abernathy, author of “Bend Beer: A History of Brewing in Central Oregon” and blogger at The BrewSite.com. The two compare and contrast the history of beer in Central and Southern Oregon.

It starts at 7pm, and we’ll talk about history and beer and books for an hour or so (while drinking beer, of course!) and we will both have our books available for sale. I haven’t had a chance to read Phil’s book yet but I know Southern Oregon has a rich beer history with a number of nineteenth century breweries and personalities, so it should be a good read.

Come out and see us on Sunday! Beer, books, and history, what more could you ask for?
