Carolina Brewery wins gold, announces restaurant renovations

Carolina Brewery wins gold medal for Costero Lager

The Southeast’s Carolina Brewery has some beer and brewery news this week, starting with a gold medal win at the North Carolina Brewers Cup and continuing with news of its brewery and restaurant renovation at its Chapel Hill location.

Details:

Carolina Brewery announces their Costero Mexican Lager won Gold at the 2022 North Carolina Brewers Cup. Carolina Brewery’s Costero Mexican Lager was 1 of the 899 entries submitted by 118 independent North Carolina breweries, making this the largest competition to date. Carolina Brewery’s Costero Mexican Lager has an ABV of 4.5% and is a crisp, ultra clean and exceptionally crushable beer.

“We’re very excited about winning the 2022 North Carolina Brewers Cup,” said Robert Poitras, CEO of Carolina Brewery. “North Carolina is one of the top pioneer states for craft beers in the country, so to win a gold medal over so many great beers is a huge accomplishment. Our Costero Mexican Lager is one of our newer beer brands and this win is great validation. We’re very proud.” Visit Carolina Brewery’s Find Our Beer tab located on their website to find a Costero Mexican Lager retailer near you.

Carolina Brewery would also like to announce the completion of their restaurant and brewery renovations in Chapel Hill. Near the entrance, Carolina Brewery added a full garage door that opens to a new bartop area. This space includes new bar stools and more bar seating. Carolina Brewery has also replaced the original brewery tanks with a brand new brewing system that will brew beer both for the restaurant as well as be used for recipe and development for the entire brand. The new brewing system includes a reverse osmosis water filtration, which few other breweries in the area use, showing the continued focus on quality of Carolina Brewery beers.

“We’re very happy with how the completed renovations turned out in our Chapel Hill Restaurant. Our goal was to utilize our front space so our customers would have a better experience when they visit with us,” said Robert Poitras, CEO of Carolina Brewery. “We are most excited to engage our customers back with our brewers right here on Franklin Street; especially after the pandemic.”

Carolina Brewery’s Chapel Hill Brewpub is located at 460 W Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. Reservations can be made through Carolina Brewery’s website.

With a whole new brewing system, I’d expect the company’s brands to take a little bit of time to get dialed in at that location.
