Bend Brewing releases two returning winter ales

Bend Brewing Company releases Sno'd In Winter IPA and Waist Deep Winter Ale

Bend Brewing Company announced the release of its two returning winter seasonals this past week, Sno’d In Winter IPA and Waist Deep Winter Ale, both available on draft and in cans.

I wrote about Sno’d In for the Bulletin two years ago, when it had been retooled into its present incarnation as a winter IPA; prior to that, it had been brewed as an English old ale with holiday spices. Waist Deep first appeared in 2019 as well, I believe, so perhaps it was a retooled version of the earlier Sno’d In?

At any rate, here’s the press release:

Bend Brewing Company is excited to announce the return of Sno’d In Winter IPA and Waist Deep Winter Ale in 16 oz cans.

Sno’d In Winter IPA was conceived as a “more sessionable ” 6% ABV winter IPA that has great malt character and balance without muddling the hop flavor. BBC constructed Sno’d In around a base of 2-row and Golden Promise malt with light carastan and rye malt providing depth. Comet and Chinook Salvo in the whirlpool provide a clean pine and orange rind hop flavor while a double dry hop of Amarillo and Simcoe hops amp up the hop aroma.

Once again Sno’d In Winter IPA was brewed in collaboration with Bend based ski and snowboard company, SnoPlanks. BBC and SnoPlanks are kindred spirits with their shared dedication to handcrafted quality and love of the outdoors.

Sno’d In Winter IPA is available in draft and 16 oz cans through our distribution partners at Point Blank Distributing and Bigfoot Beverages and will be released at BBC’s Downtown Bend brewpub on Friday October 29th. Also mark your calendars for the annual Sno’d In Party set for Friday December 3rd.

Bend Brewing Company is also excited to release Waist Deep Winter Ale in 16 oz cans as part of the brewery’s Pub Series. Waist Deep is the quintessential Northwest Winter Warmer with a full body loaded with plum, raisin and toffee flavors courtesy of a complex malt bill and English yeast and hops. Waist Deep is available now through Point Blank Distributing and Bigfoot Beverages.
