Happy National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! Yep, it’s a thing and to celebrate the woolen festivities, I’ve selected Redneck Christmas Stout from Georgia’s Jekyll Brewing Company for the Advent beer of the day. Not that there’s anything particularly sweater-themed about this peppermint imperial stout, but because the label reminds me of an ugly Christmas sweater (in a good way!) and also because in all the years of doing the Advent calendar, I’ve only featured one beer from Georgia, so it was time to rectify that.

This beer is our homage to those early holiday mornings. An Imperial Stout brewed with coffee, chocolate and peppermint, makes this is the perfect beer for the holidays…especially with Uncle Eddie around.

I like the idea that this could be a morning stout (think peppermint schnapps in your coffee or hot chocolate) and I know what I’d be enjoying on Christmas morning.

Redneck Christmas Stout is 8% alcohol by volume and you may want to garnish with a candy cane.
