2 Towns Ciderhouse Pacific Pineapple

2 Towns Ciderhouse Pacific PineappleI received the bottles of 2 Towns Ciderhouse Pacific Pineapple cider back in February and enjoyed a bottle early on, but saved one for the summer months for which I found it to be a great hot weather cider. 2 Towns introduced this to its year-round lineup at the beginning of the year, so you don’t need to wait on this to become seasonally available. And if you like pineapple, I think you’ll like this.

Billed as an “unfiltered pineapple cider,” Pacific Pineapple is 5% ABV and the cidery says:

Juicy and tropical, Pacific Pineapple rolls ripe Costa Rica golden pineapples into fresh-pressed Northwest apples. This refreshingly juicy and easy drinking session cider will relax your state of mind, no matter your locale!

In addition to the 500ml bottles, it’s available in 12-ounces cans.

Appearance: Pale straw-yellow color, with a slight haze. Looks rather like pineapple juice actually. Minimal fizzy white head.

Smell: Big expression of pineapple — freshly cut pineapple, pineapple juice, sweet and fresh. That is the predominant aroma and it’s not like when you open canned pineapple, but when you are cutting into the fruit.

Taste: One of the sweetest 2 Towns ciders I’ve had. Prominent pineapple juice flavor right up front, with a touch of malic acidity at the sides of the tongue. Crisp body, sweet-tart apple flavor at the back.

Mouthfeel: Lightly sticky-sweet in the finish but it’s not cloying and it’s nicely refreshing.

Overall: Tasty and welcome on a hot day, it was in the 90s when I opened this up. The overall juiciness and crisp but sweet (not cloying) finish was quite enjoyable.
