Laurelwood Brewing (Portland) will be at Bailey’s Taproom‘s Upper Lip tonight for a special vertical tasting of their Santa’s Woody Barleywine: “Three years, Four Beers! Join us upstairs for a vertical tasting of Santa’s Woody. The following beers will be available:” the 2013, 2014, and 2015 editions, all barrel-aged, as well as a non-barrel-aged version of the 2015. McMenamins Murray & Allen (Beaverton) has a limited-edition beer tasting today starting at 3:30pm, featuring A Saison Creed Belgian Pale Ale: “Saison’s are a summer seasonal style produced in Wallonia, the French-speaking part of Belgium. They were originally brewed at the end of the cool season to last through the warmer months before refrigeration was common. They had to be sturdy enough to last for months but not too strong that they weren’t refreshing in the summer. It is now brewed year round in tiny, artisanal breweries whose buildings reflect their origins as farmhouses. This is a traditional Belgian Farmhouse Ale made with Pale Malt, Rolled Oats, Special Aromatic, and Pilsner Malts. This ale is light in color and body but full of flavor thanks to the Belgian Yeast. Lemon peel and Sweet Spanish Orange Peel with Perle Hops also add to this unique Pale.”

Eugene’s WildCraft Cider Works will be in Portland today at Bushwacker Cider for a meet the maker event from 6 to 9pm: “Sean Kelly, Owner and Maker of WildCraft Cider Works will be in the house sampling and discussing his unique, wildly crafted ciders. Come meet this talented cider maker and learn about Wildcraft’s amazing production of wild fermented ciders. Cheers!”

Bryan from No-Li will be in the house with a very special keg of their Wrecking Ball, Barrel Aged on ancho chiles! Plus, just for the heck of it, we’ll have a keg of regular Wrecking Ball for your side-by-side tasting pleasure! We’ll have Crony, their tasty brown ale, on for your palate cleansing/pint drinking needs too! So come find out what a Spokane Style ale is and have fun trying a great stout for this cold weather!”

Cascade Brewing (Portland): They are releasing this year’s vintage of Blueberry today: “Blueberry 2015 is now available in bottles and draft! This blend of Wheat and Blond ales were aged in oak barrels for up to 12 months with fresh blueberries. Intense blueberry aromatics, clean fruit flavor, mild oak presence and lively acidity. $7 glass, $20 bottle”

The Green Dragon (Portland): This week’s Green Dragon Brew Crew release is ABC IPA: “Every year, the Green Dragon Brew Crew auctions a Guest Brew Day to raise money for one of its favorite charities, My Voice Music. This group, located just around the corner from the Green Dragon, teaches kids and teenagers how to write, perform, record and release their own songs. By doing so, they learn self-esteem, social skills, and emotional expression. The winner of this year’s Guest Brew Day is Chris Morse, a big fan of the IPA. Working with Crew member Alex Graham, they crafted a deliciously clear IPA with Amarillo, Crystal and Simcoe hops. Chris calls it ABC IPA in honor of the new additions to his family. With hints of pine and floral aromas, plus a dry, grassy, and floral flavor, just one taste of ABC IPA will have you singing for more. Drop by the Green Dragon Wednesday evening and join us.”

Laurelwood Brewing is also doing a tasting at Bend’s Platypus Pub tonight from 6 to 8pm: “Matt Saari from Laurelwood Brewing will be here Wednesday night to sample out a few of their tasty brews. We will have the Deranger, Megafauna and Rando #8 The Ocho on tap and for samples. Matt will also be pouring a few others for samples as well.”
