Wild Ride Brewing (Redmond) is hosting the release party for their Brenna A Amber Lager today from 4:30 to 6:30pm. This is a benefit beer with a special partnership: “We’re excited to officially release the Brenna A Amber Lager! We teamed up with Captain Sean Dwyer of the Deadliest Catch to create a beer that will raise awareness and funds to end ALS. Join us for an evening of beer, raffles, and a chance to meet Captain Sean Dwyer!”
Belmont Station (Portland) has a special beer tapping today, featuring Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovaný (Unfiltered) which isn’t something we see too often: “A rare treat for sure, this unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell is only available to select pubs around the world, and we happen to be one of them! Come taste this iconic beer along side the version we already know and love. First folks to order a pint of the Nefiltrovaný will get a (pretty darn adorable) Pilsner Urquell mug to take home (while supplies last, of course).” It runs from 5 to 8pm.
Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes Brewery pubs in Bend and in Portland, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit.
I haven’t seen who the Bend beneificiary is yet this month. The Bend beneficiary is J Bar J Youth Services. The Portland Pub is donating to “Kinship House which provides outpatient mental health care to children and their families touched by foster care and adoption.” Make sure to hit one of the pubs and enjoy a pint or three to help out.
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Their Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring G-Bread: “We took our double red sour, aged it in Pinot barrel for 12 months, then added a wholesome amount of fresh ginger, cinnamon, and brown sugar. This classic combination of sugar and spice is perfect for the season, taking us back to when grandma would make fresh gingerbread cookies. Our Live From the Barrel beers are available for two weeks or until they run out.”
And, Cascade announced that their acclaimed Sang Royal is back after a three year hiatus, and will be available on November 14. From the release: “The beer will be available in 750ml bottles and on draft through Cascade’s regular distribution channels, and at both its Portland pubs. Sang Royal is a blend of double red ales aged in oak barrels, foudres and puncheons for up to 22 months with Pinot Noir grapes from Oregon’s famed Willamette Valley wine region. The most sophisticated in Cascade’s series of “Sang” projects, Sang Royal captures complex notes of summer berry fruit, plum, cola, earth and spice, with a vibrant acidity and soft tannic structure. It comes in at 9.4 percent alcohol by volume.”
Great Notion Brewing (Portland) has their Community Support Night tonight starting at 5pm, raising money for Vibe: “The first Tuesday of every month we donate a percentage of proceeds to a non-profit that we are passionate about. This month we will be donating to Vibe of Portland. Vibe exists because arts education is missing in today’s daily educational system ~ especially for students without the means to make it happen outside of the school day. Vibe connects local teaching artists who are passionate about bringing their love of music and visual arts to the students they work with.”
Culmination Brewing (Portland) has their 4 and 20 Imperial Black IPA bottling and releasing today: “It’s that time of season again! The time has come to bottle our Imperial Black IPA 4 & 20 again, and Tuesday the 7th it will be happening. 4 & 20 will not only be in bottles but also on draft in our taproom. You will also be able to find 4 & 20 at many Portland area bottle shops in the next few weeks. This imperial black IPA, named for its 4 hops and 20-degrees Plato uses Simcoe, Chinook, Cascade & Centennial hops and this beer comes in at 9.5% abv. Enjoy!”
Block 15 Brewery (Corvallis): At their Tap Room on Deschutes Road, they are hosting Tap Talks on homebrewing, with Joel Rea of Corvallis Homebrew Supply. “Are you a home brewer? Or perhaps you’re just curious about what it takes to brew your own beer… If so, this Tap Talk is for you! During November’s Tap Talk, our speaker, Joel, will focus on beer recipe formulation with a look at the nuances, as well as the big picture items, that a brewer must face while crafting a beer recipe. Whether a 5 gallon home-brewed or a 10 barrel batch there are some similar considerations as well as a few major differences. We’ll go over many of these points as well as to leave you on a path of self-discovery! Along the way he’ll share his secrets of his favorite beers to brew like The Harry Oyster Stout, Autumnal Squash, Ol’ Lickspigot and more!” It takes place from 7 to 9pm and they recommend getting there a bit early.
Rogue Ales (Newport) announced the release of their new beer, Pilots Pale Ale, this week: “Rogue Ales & Spirits will launch Pilots Pale Ale this week as a tribute to the brewery’s ties to the University of Portland. Charged with providing their alma-mater its very own brew, two former Portland Pilots who now work at Rogue Ales, Danny Connors and Anna Abatzoglou, created Pilots Pale Ale. Rogue’s Innovation Brewer Danny Connors is a former Pilot men’s soccer player while Director of Marketing Anna Abatzoglou was a volleyball player on The Bluff. Hazy golden in color with citrus and blueberry on the nose, Pilots Pale Ale delivers an initial fruity hop flavor and a slight malt sweetness that ends with a crisp bitterness. Sessionable, aromatic and downright delicious, Pilots Pale Ale is the go-to beer for game day or catching up with your old college roommate.” The official release party takes place this November 11.
Plank Town Brewing (Springfield) has the return of a beer back on tap, and Tuesday specials: “The Lost City IPA is back on tap 🍻 and it’s Tasty Tuesday so it’s a great day to try something new – we’ve got $4 flights, $4 cask pints or you can Walk the Plank and try 12 tasters for $10. Beer of the Week is Pleasant Hill Pale, our cask beers are Pleasant Hill Pale and Copperhead with brown sugar, plus we have a barrel-aged Marzen on tap right now. Our nitro beers are Wrought Iron Cream Stout (perfect for nitro!) and our English style IPA – Cheers!”
