Oregon Beer, McMenamins Cedar HillsHappy Hump Day! I hope your week is going well so far. Here is the Oregon beer news for this Wednesday, October 18. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

McMenamins Cedar Hills (Beaverton) has their Liquid Longevity beer tasting tonight from 5 to 8pm, featuring Little Red Rye Hood Ale: “Don’t let the name deceive you. This brew is low in alcohol but packed full of flavor. Toffee, caramel, plums and bread dominate the malty notes while Cascade and Brewers Gold Hops provide a soft bitterness, and a green tea aroma and flavor. Just say no to the big bad wolves and enjoy a Little Red Rye Hood Ale.”

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting Little Beast Brewing for their Animal Family bottle release and a meet the brewer event today: “Welcome Brenda Crow and Charles Porter of Little Beast for the release of Animal Family, a Foeder-aged Farmhouse Ale. Featured draft beers for this evenings event will be: Dream State — strawberry Animal Family, Animal Family, and Field Folk Saison.” It runs from 5 to 8pm.

Rogue Ales Eastside Pub in Portland, the Oregon Brew Crew, and the Green Dragon Brew Crew is hosting the release of the winning beer from the Pure Water Brew contest this evening starting at 5pm: “The Oregon Brew Crew and Clean Water Services will be hosting a Pure Water Brew celebration and tasting on Wednesday evening, October 18 from 5-7 p.m. at the Rogue Eastside Pub and Pilot Brewery, 928 SE 9th Street in Portland. PWB samples and swag are free while supplies last. The public is welcome! To celebrate the 2017 PWB competition, the Green Dragon Brew Crew brewed the 2017 winner Jon Larson’s Saison on Rogue’s pilot brewery and will be tapping the keg at 5 p.m. Join us as we raise a pint to sustainable water management at this no-host event.”

Freebridge Brewing (The Dalles) tonight is hosting Gorge on Tap with Friends of the Columbia Gorge from 5:30 to 8pm: “Enjoy a drink and presentation about Gorge conservation threats and recreation projects.
5:30 – 7:00 p.m. | Socialize, Eat, and Drink
Please come early to eat as food is not allowed on the brewery floor during the presentation.

Free event, no RSVP | Membership Special: Donate $20 and receive a free Friends pint glass. Gorge on Tap is a quarterly Friends event traveling to communities in and around the Columbia Gorge to provide an update on conservation issues and recreation programs.”

Three Mugs Brewing (Hillsboro): They have a beer release kicking off tonight at 6pm, for their Cascadian Coffee Ale: “Join us for the release of a special beer we made with our good friend, Jim Sullins, fornthe Willamette Week Pro/Am: Cascadian Coffee Ale. It’s a delicious CDA in which we infused coffee. It’s hoppy-roasty-malty-coffee heaven.”
