Cascade Brewing (Portland): Their Tap It Tuesday starts at 6pm tonight at the Barrel House and features Straight Double Red: “This NW style sour double red ale was aged for seven months in French oak wine barrels. Aromas of dark red wine, raisins and red grape skins are noticed up front. Notes of sweet red grapes and caramel with hints of hazelnuts on the palate lead to a finish of bright red currants and cherries. Believe it or not, there is no fruit or spicing in this beer. 7.5% ABV, $6.5/glass.”
Silver Moon Brewing (Bend): Their Growler Power Hour this week features Dark Side Stout and Getsum Apricot Wheat Ale; Dark Side is their 2011 GABF gold medal-winning stout, one you’ll want to get a hold of! The GPH lasts from 4 to 6pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and features growler fills of the selected beers for only $6.
Seven Brides Brewing (Silverton) has their Septoberfest Fresh Hop Beer Festival coming up this Saturday, the 22nd, all day (from 11 to 11) at the Brewery. They plan to have fresh hop beers from 15 or more breweries, live music, food, and more—and even better, all proceeds from the event are being donated to national non-profit Brides Against Breast Cancer, and they’re kicking off a wedding dress drive for the same charity that will run throughout October. “Cost for this year’s festival is $5 entry and $10 for a tasting glass and 4 tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets are $1 each. Anyone that has a wedding dress to donate that meets the donation requirements will be given complimentary entry and a special gift from Seven Brides.”
Bull Ridge Brewpub (Baker City) is also getting their fresh hop on: “Walter and Andy just picked POUNDS of local wild hops, so expect a wet hop oktoberfest, 2 wet hop IPAs, and Andy plans on incorporating some into the Farm-2-Fork. Come in and drop a fresh off the bine hop in your Beer.” They’re still brewing small-batch beers (on a 10-gallon setup I believe) so be sure to get these beers while you can!
