Oregon Beer, Lucky Labrador BrewingHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, September 11, rounding up the items for the day. I will continue to update this post with the latest news as I get the chance, though it may be sporadic; as always though, feel free to contact me with anything interesting that I should cover.

Portland’s Lucky Labrador Brewing holds its annual community hop harvest today, collecting fresh hops for The Mutt: “Who’s ready for Hop Harvest 2018? This upcoming Tuesday, Sept. 11th, starting at 4pm at our SE Hawthorne pub, bring your homegrown hops and help us harvest! Beer & wings provided to volunteer Hop Harvesters. The collected hops will be used to make our extremely limited edition fresh hop pale ale, that we like to call The Mutt. The Mutt will be available at all four locations about 10 days after the harvest.”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): As always, Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, when $1 off of every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit organization. In Bend, both the Pub and Tasting Room are benefiting the Deschutes Public Library, and in Portland, the Pub is benefiting Lines for Life (which helps to prevent substance abuse and suicide). Good causes worth the time to enjoy a pint or three to help out.

Corvallis Beer Week continues today, with a lively evening planned with the annual March:

  • Pêche Mini-Fest and Pre-March Party at Caves Bier & Kitchen: “We’ll be gathering at Caves Bier & Kitchen starting at 3:30pm, making fun signs for our “parade” and enjoying beers that they have put on draft for the occasion! Caves will have four specialty Pêche (Peach) beers on draft!”
  • Beer Week MARCH!: “The Beer Week MARCH! is a tradition going way back to the beginning. We take to the streets and march with a band to celebrate our love for craft beer. All are welcome to take up a sign and join the MARCH! The Corvallis Beer Week MARCH! will leave Caves Bier & Kitchen at 5:30PM and make 2 stops. The first stop is at Corvallis Brewing Supply at 6:00PM and
The second stop is at Squirrels Tavern at 6:30PM”
  • Beer Week Rooftop Party at Sky High Brewing: “The party is free to attend! Tickets will be for sale at the event that will be redeemable for beer, cider and mead. Live music from LMNO! Great local breweries such as Calapooia Brewing, Mazama Brewing, 2 Towns Ciderhouse, Nectar Creek, Flat Tail Brewing, Block 15 Brewing, Oregon Trail Brewing, Deluxe Brewing, and Dirt Road Brewing.” Starts at 6pm.

Oregon City Brewing hosts its weekly Charity Pint Night, supporting Oregon City Preschool: “Support Oregon City Preschool by enjoying a beverage at Oregon City Brewing Company! $1 from every beer, tasters, soda, and growler purchases will go back to our school. No flyer needed, just attend from 5pm to close! (Children welcome inside until 9pm, and until close outside)”

Baerlic Brewing (Portland) has a fresh hop beer release today: Milo Fresh Hop Saison. “Rustic yeast adds all the nice spice and fruitiness you’d expect, but just a touch of oak dryness sends this beer into another realm of drinkability. Conditioned on loads of Fresh Sterling hops from Crosby Hop Farms and you’ve got a beautifully complex little beer we lovingly call Milo.”

And Baerlic is releasing Stay Fresh Dad Beer today as well: “We think Dad’s still cool, so we Freshened him up a bit with loads of fresh as hell Amarillo hops from Crosby Hop Farm. Trust us, this is way better than that time he wanted to get an earring.”

Worthy Brewing (Bend) has a new beer on tap now: “On tap @worthybrewing only! We joined forces with @buoybeer to brew this beauty. Dry Dock: 6.8 % ABV 13 IBU. Notes of lemongrass and honey. Finish is crisp and bright. Two creative breweries making delicious beer.”
