Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday release at 6pm is featuring Bourbon Barrel Aged Fruit: “This NW style sour red ale was aged in Bourbon barrels for 10 months before aging on fresh apricots and sour pie cherries for an additional 11 months. Some light touches from a few accent barrels, including raspberries, apples and spices, were added to bring out the full fruit experience. We could try to describe it, but it is a single barrel with multiple facets and, as such, is an individual experience – so taste and discover for yourself, and let us know what you think!. 7.5% ABV, $8 a glass, $3 a taster.”
Rock Bottom (Portland): Tonight starting at 5:30 Rock Bottom is featuring a Vintage Beer Tapping, where the “Brew Team will bust a couple of beers from the vault and throw them on tap for one day only” (via Oregon Brewers Guild). I don’t know what the beers will be, so keep an eye on their Facebook page in case they post them.
Puckerfest continues for Oregon Craft Beer Month at Belmont Station in Portland, and tonight from 5 to 8pm they are welcoming Hood River’s Double Mountain Brewery: “Charlie Devereux and Matt Swihart have led a parade of Puckerfesters each year with their phenomenal Krieks and fresh cherries. Let’s do it again! Can’t wait. 2012 Devil’s Kriek and 2012 Rainier Kriek (same amazing beer with Rainier cherries instead of Bing) plus Black Blood Cherry Porter brewed at Kriek Kamp 2011!”
Gigantic Brewing (Portland) has their new labels for their third bottled beer, Axes of Evil, and are planning on releasing the beer this Friday (after bottling on Thursday). Axes of Evil is a collaboration beer with Three Floyds Brewing, brewed with “proper coal fired English malt, tropical New Zealnd hops” and is 6% abv.
Crux Fermentation Project (Bend) announced a new beer today, On the Fence NWPA. “It’s not a pale ale… it’s not an IPA… With a solid malt backbone, significant hop flavors and aromas— it takes a stance where you might not expect it.” I’m imagining a beefed-up version of their first beer, which was a session pale ale.
