Oregon BeerHere is the Oregon beer news for Tuesday, May 9. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated too.

Deluxe Brewing (Albany) announced their partnership with distributor Bigfoot Beverages today: “Deluxe Brewing is owned by Eric and Jamie Howard. The couple started working on the brewery in 2011 and opened September 21, 2013, their wedding anniversary. Eric was a home brewer for nine years before starting Deluxe. Deluxe Brewing has been self-distributing in the mid-Willamette Valley. Deluxe produces easy-drinking, well-balanced lagers and ales. Their specialty has been the lagers and utilize horizontal lager tanks to get a clean, unfiltered finish. With the new footprint from Bigfoot, Deluxe will be ramping up production this summer.” No mention of what area Bigfoot will cover but I would expect to start seeing a lot more of Deluxe beers in various areas around the state this year.

Gigantic Brewing (Portland): Today they are celebrating their 5th anniversary at their actual taproom (previously they’d been celebrating all over town). “The day it all began! Celebrate our 5th Anniversary at the Gigantic Taproom- $2 pints all day!” That’s a great deal on great beer—I wish I could make it to Portland today to celebrate too!

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Today’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is a collaboration with Freigeist Bierkultur from Stolberg, Germany: “Pêche Fumé is a wild, sour wheat ale brewed with smoked malt then fermented in open-top puncheon barrels with Northwest-grown peaches. Fresh peach aroma is met with a soft smoked flavor and a dry, refreshingly tart finish (7.2% ABV).”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes pubs, where $1 of every pint sold go to benefit a local non-profit. I haven’t seen who the Bend beneficiary is for May yet, but the Bend Pub has been starting Community Pints at 4:30pm every Tuesday. At the Portland Pub, they are benefiting Friends of Trees, which aims “to plant city trees and restore green spaces in the Portland-Vancouver and Eugene-Springfield areas.” Get down to the pubs and have a pint or three to help out the community!

Culmination Brewing (Portland) has a special beer going on tap today: “Today, starting at 12pm, we will have a SPECIAL version of Cryo Phaedrus IPA on tap. Also, check out our updated tap list on the Culmination Brewing Company website.”

Oregon City Brewing is holding a diaper fundraiser today—Bottoms Up for Babies for the PDX Diaper Bank. “Join us Tuesday May 9th at Oregon City Brewing charity night! $1 of every OCB beer (pint, growler, or growler) sold that day will be donated to PDX Diaper Bank! OCB is open to ALL AGES and have OP Wurst in the house grilling up some delicious dogs, along with fries and salads.”

Wild Ride Brewing (Redmond): In addition to having $9 growler fills special on Tuesdays, this week is a special one for Wild Ride: “Wild Ride turns 3 years old this week! While we’ll be having a celebration all day at the brewery on May 20th, let’s have some fun this week as well! Tell us your favorite beer we’ve brewed, and like and share to enter to win WRB swag!”
