This weekend the Pouring at the Coast beer festival returns to Seaside, taking place Saturday, March 18 from 3 to 8pm. “The Seaside Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Seaside Brewing Company to present the SEVENTH annual Pouring At The Coast Festival. More than 60 types of craft beer have been poured over the years, representing nearly 30 breweries in the region.” You can pre-purchase the entry package here (tasting glass plus 5 tasting tickets) and view their current list of participating brewers here.
Eugene’s Manifest Beer Company (formerly Mancave Brewing I believe, who appears to contract brew at Elk Horn Brewery) posted about their latest cocktail influenced American Sour Series release: “Un Mélange De Serendipity “Lychee & Passion Fruit.” When we say limited release we truly mean it. Less than 10 Kegs will be sold to select beer bars/restaurants in the state. Please let us know what you think!”
A couple of anniversaries are coming up this week:
- Hopworks Urban Brewery is celebrating their 9th anniversary on Wednesday the 15th with a party at their southeast Portland pub from 5 to 7pm: “We’ll have Organic Wave Train and Ferocious Citrus for sale in cans for the first time. We’ll also have Survival Stout on Nitro for the first time ever, a Vienna Sausage platter to pair with Wave Train, and a corned beef food special as a sneak peek for St. Paddy’s Day. Our brewers will make their way out of the brewery at 5:30pm for a shift beer, so come have a pint with us.”
- Double Mountain Brewery is turning ten! They will celebrate on Saturday the 18th with live music and specialty beers at an all day party. Cost is $5 admission, $10 after 6pm, and you’ll get a souvenir mug. Kids are welcome until 8pm.
Cascade Brewing (Portland) is introducing their new, first Shandy: “Introducing our first shandy-style beer offering, Shanderine, a blend of our sour wheat ale aged for 12 months in an oak wine barrel then blended with freshly squeezed tangerine juice just before packaging. Much like a classic mimosa, Shanderine features flavors of fresh citrus juice and sparkling white wine with a tart, slightly sweet finish. We’ve only created one keg of this, which will go on draft at the Barrel House tomorrow at opening (March 14)!”
