Worthy Brewing (Bend): I wrote yesterday about Bend’s Broken Top Bottle Shop kicking off their 3-year anniversary tomorrow—well, Worthy is also having an anniversary tomorrow, their 2nd! They are celebrating tomorrow with specials all around: “To celebrate, we’re tapping our annual batch of GTX (Go Time Extra Pale), the first beer we ever brewed back in December 2013. This beer only comes out once per year! Plus, we’ll have Hoppy Hour from 2:30p until close! That’s discounted snacks and beer specials all night.”
McMenamins Fulton Pub (Portland) has a limited-edition beer tasting today starting at 5pm, featuring Electric Ginger Orange Weizen. No description posted on the page, but the name alone definitely sounds like something Anheuser-Busch would “make up” for a Budweiser commercial! Get down there to taste it, because when it’s gone, it’s gone.
The BeerMongers (Portland) is hosting Utah’s Epic Brewing today for an “Elder Brett Draft Party” beginning at 5:30pm: “Join The BeerMongers for a special evening of draft beers featuring Epic Brewing. We will have one of our favorite beers Elder Brett on draft as well as Big Bad Baptist and Lil’ Brainless. We will also have several Epic beers in the bottle to take home. Cheers.”
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday event at the Barrel House is featuring Honeycot: “we pulled a portion of the new Apricot blend straight from the tank and added local wildflower honey directly to the barrel for an extra layer of nectarous complexity. Honeycot features flavors of apricot preserves, honeysuckle flowers and raw honeycomb. 7.3% ABV, $8 8oz Glass, $3 Taster.” Sounds interesting! Starts at 6pm.
This Friday and Saturday, the 6th and 7th, is the annual KLCC Microbrew Festival taking place in Eugene! This is one of the longer-running and more venerable Willamette Valley brewfests that I know of, and it supports Oregon’s NPR station (KLCC naturally). This year they have 75 breweries serving 190 beers(!) and one of the neat features of this fest is the collaboration brew: “Each year, Eugene area brewers work together to create a Collaboration Brew specifically for this Festival. Following last year’s Tour of Germany and the previous year’s Tour of the British Isles, brewers chose to continue showcasing European style beers with this year’s Tour of Belgium. Fourteen breweries are participating, with fourteen styles on hand for tasting.” Tickets are $12 and can be purchased in advance directly on the page.
Rogue Ales (Newport) has wasted no time in coming up with a beery response to the Super Bowl Budweiser ad that’s got everyone in an uproar: a barrel-aged maple Doppelbock named “Fuss Off!!!” Hah: “We, Rogue, give to you, the beer drinker who appreciates beer with flavor, creativity and craftsmanship, “Fuss Off!!!”, a Maple Dopplebock aged for 6.5 months in Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey barrels. We only have 7 kegs of “Fuss Off!!” to share with our dedicated Rogue Nation members and friends, so you better get to one of our Meeting Halls soon before “Fuss Off!!!” is gone.”
Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland) now has on tap the two collaboration beers they brewed with Baerlic Brewing for Base Camp’s recent Collabofest: “Together we brewed a Bavarian Hefeweizen and divided it into two beers. The first is a Radlerweizen, made with Oregon Pear Juice, and the second is a Kellerweizen aged in bourbon and apple brandy, dry hopped with Citra and El Dorado hops. These two beers are in very limited supply so get them at our Powell location now. Available at BikeBar starting tomorrow.”
