Recently received: Von Ebert, Firestone Walker, Clausthaler, 10 Barrel
A compilation of a number of beers I’ve recently received that I’m behind on posting:
Von Ebert Brewing: Pils, Sector 7 Hazy IPA, Volatile Substance IPA
Last month, Von Ebert’s Pils won gold at the World Beer Cup in the German-style Pilsener category, and both Sector 7 and Volatile Substance are highly regarded (and award-winning) beers as well. The cans are sporting new designs, offering a flashy upgrade from the previous branding. I’ve reviewed Volatile Substance in the past, but I’ve not had either of the other two.
Firestone Walker Brewing: 805 Beer in limited-edition “USA” cans
Firestone Walker is pushing its popular 805 Beer for summer, and this is that beer (“regular” 805) in special limited edition cans. The details on them:
805 Beer has just launched an all-new limited-edition USA can packaging designed by illustrator and tattoo artist Thomas Fernandez. Traced simply by Fernandez’s black ink brush and chrome-quill pen, these cans retain the classic 805 branded black and white color scheme, flying into your warm days and cool ice chests with a patriotic eagle.
Clausthaler ISO 0.0 Non-Alcoholic Beer
Clausthaler is one of the original non-alcoholic beer producers, and the company is positioning its new ISO 0.0 as a refreshing rehydrator to drink after exercising. I’m not sure how that’s so different from the company’s other non-alcoholic beers, but it does have a bit more sugars and protein in it, according to the product page. The description says:
Perfectly providing tasteful refreshment for active people looking to reward themselves with a high quality, great tasting 0.0% brew. Clausthaler ISO 0.0% is the tasteful, exciting and healthy option to refuel and hydrate your body after exercising and being active.
10 Barrel Brewing: Agria Morada
Part of the tinyHaus specialty series from 10 Barrel, Agria Morada is the 12th in the series and brewed with an unusual medley of ingredients:
This exciting Sour Ale was inspired by the refreshing Peruvian drink “Chicha Morado”. After a cereal mash of purple corn and lactobacilus souring, the beer is given a hefty dose of pineapple, a touch of Quince, and a blend of spices to create an enticing aroma. A post fermentation addition of butterfly pea flowers helps enhance the vibrant purple color.
Definitely interesting and one of the more unusual ones!
