Received: Several NA and alt beverages

Received: Several NA and alt beverages

Now that Christmas weekend is past and the Beer Advent Calendar is over, I can get caught up on a few things, starting with receiving some non-alcoholic and “alt” beverages (as in, alternative to beer). These were sent the past couple of weeks though I hadn’t gotten to sharing.

The timing on these is clearly targeted to coincide with the end of the year, New Year’s resolutions, “dry January” type stories that will be coming out, so I’ll have more to say on each.

Lagunitas non-alcoholic drinks

Received: Lagunitas Brewing non-alcoholic drinks

Lagunitas Brewing is promoting its two non-alcoholic brews, Hoppy Refresher and IPNA. Hoppy Refresher is a dry-hopped sparkling water with, not surprisingly, 0% alcohol and 0 calories. IPNA, Non-alcoholic IPA, is as advertised, with less that 0.5% ABV and only 80 calories. Since I’ve been exploring NA beers this past year or two, I’ll be writing about these of course.

James & James Craft Hemp Seltzer

Received: James & James Craft Hemp Seltzer

James & James is a new company that I (obviously) hadn’t heard of yet, getting the word out about its “craft sparkling hemp beverages” (i.e., CBD seltzer). According to the marketing email, it’s:

the first craft sparkling beverage made with full spectrum, hemp flower-derived CBD extract sourced from in-house hemp. Each 12 oz glass bottle of James & James features 25mg of CBD sourced from its parent company CFH Ltd.’s Colorado farm. James & James’ two flavors, Cucumber Mint and Cherry Vanilla, are carbonated, light and refreshing with the subtle touch of earthy hemp and are naturally alcohol-free, caffeine-free, gluten-free and contain zero calories, sugars/or carbs.

From what I can tell, these are non-alcoholic, and only contain CBD. The two flavors are Cherry Vanilla and Cucumber Mint, and from what I can see so far, they look somewhat milky white in the bottle. More as I try them.

Oh Hi flavored CBD seltzers

Received: Oh Hi flavored CBD seltzers

(These looks like cans of soda.) Also apparently non-alcoholic, the Oh Hi brand is a:

lineup of flavor-forward sparking CBD seltzers stand out in a sea of bland seltzer options with 5g of pure cane sugar in every can for maximum flavor. Four flavors, Pomegranate, Lemon Lime, Ginger Basil Limeade and Grapefruit, are now available to ship nationwide.

Each contains 20 mg of CBD, extracted from “naturally occurring terpenese.” It should be interesting to compare/contrast to the others.
