Oregon Beer News for Monday, January 18, 2021

Here’s the news in Oregon beer for this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 18, rounding up the various tidbits and happenings from around the state. I’ll be updating this post through the afternoon with the latest news as I discover it, so crack open a beer and check back occasionally.

Ninkasi’s first seasonal of 2021 is out now

Eugene’s Ninkasi Brewing has its first seasonal of the year hitting the shelves: Galaxy Trippin’ Stellar IPA. Naturally it’s brewed with Galaxy hops, as well as Crystal, El Dorado, and Azacca.

Galaxy Trippin’ is an homage to doing things and seeing things differently. Gaze into its rich, golden hue. Get lost in a mind-bending swirl of Galaxy Hop notes like peach, passionfruit, and papaya.

It’s 7% ABV and 45 IBUs and available in both cans and bottles.

Third location for Stickmen Brewing

I’d seen this news on Brewpublic on Friday but hadn’t gotten the news updated then: Stickmen Brewing, headquartered in Lake Oswego, is planned a third taproom location near Beaverton:

A new brewery taproom is scheduled to open in the Cedar Mill area west of Portland and near Beaverton later this year. Stickmen Brewing Company has announced that it has signed a lease for the brewery’s third location which is planned to open in Fall 2021. The Stickmen Brewing Cedar Mill Taproom is a newly constructed 5,000sqft store front located at Kirkland Place Plaza at Barnes and 118th in Cedar Mill.

The offerings that are planned here will mirror what is being offered at its Tualatin Beer Hall & Production Brewery. This will include authentic wood-fired pizzas, salads, and 28 taps in a causal family-friendly atmosphere with a heated and covered outdoor patio.

Bend Brewing 2021 calendar

I posted earlier today the details on Bend Brewing Company‘s upcoming 2021 lineup of cans, with emphasis on the brewpub’s High Desert Hop series and new additions to its Pub Series. Watch for these cans throughout the year.

New bottles from Draper Brewing

Draper Brewing, located in Tenmile near Roseburg, has two new bottled beers out perfect for enjoying at home:

Chateau Lenhart: a wild ale, aged on Estate Grown Plums and Blackberries, all hand-picked by the Draper crew. 7.4% ABV.

Temporal Agent: a wild ale aged on locally-grown Tempranillo Grapes and Blueberries! 8.1% ABV.

Sunriver’s latest Wood Series beer out now

From Sunriver Brewing comes the latest bottle release in its new Wood Series, Mexican Mocha Stout, available now.

This masterful blend of 12-month bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout is designed to emulate a Mexican mocha. A combination of coffee, vanilla, lactose, cinnamon, chocolate, and chili peppers (puya and ancho) are carefully infused into this big beer to achieve maximum flavor. This unique stout presents with sweet-heat and earthy-spicy, followed with a big mocha punch.
