Widmer’s W’11 seasonal: KGB Russian Stout!

I posted the press release for this yesterday, but I’m excited for this year’s W’11 Brewmasters’ Release from Widmer: KGB Russian Imperial Stout! This is a beer I’ve heard about from afar, either being a Gasthaus tap-only treat or making appearances at Portland beer festivals that I’ve missed. By all accounts it’s quite good.

So I’m excited to see KGB getting the “W” treatment, but that’s not all—most breweries these days releasing a 9.3% ABV Imperial Stout would do so in 22-ounce bombers and charge $8-12 per bottle. Widmer instead is releasing this in a six-pack at six-pack pricing: $8.99. That’s a great deal no matter how you look at it.

There was a flurry of chatter on the emails yesterday about this beer. I’ve got to get on the stick and try it.
