The Holiday Ale Festival is going on now

The annual Holiday Ale Festival held in Portland (Oregon) seems to be getting bigger each year—so much so, that I’m now thinking of it as the "winter Oregon Brewers Festival." It’s held downtown at Pioneer Square, and this year it runs from today, December 3rd, through the 7th (Sunday).

One of the amazing things about this Fest is that brewers are creating special beers just for this event. On top of some other amazing limited editions (Deschutes Brewery’s 2005 Mirror Mirror barleywine, for example), this is one event I wished I lived in Portland for.

Check out the beer list. All I can really say is, damn.

It’ll cost you $20 up front to taste any beer, and for that you get your souvenir mug and 10 tasting tickets. Subsequent tickets are $1 apiece (per the standard).
