BridgePort Trilogy 1

The first in BridgePort Brewing’s Trilogy series coming out this year (to commemorate their 30th anniversary) is a pale ale: their Crystal Dry-Hopped Pale Ale. In this day and age leading a specialty series with a pale is a bold move—any more people are expecting exotic ingredients, unusual fermentation, specialty aging, something. Received: BridgePort Trilogy #1

Two bottles of the first in BridgePort Brewing‘s new Trilogy series, commemorating their 30th anniversary this year, arrived for me this past weekend: This first beer is a Crystal Dry-Hopped Pale Ale, 5.2% abv, and the brewery says about it: This dry-hopped pale showcasing crystal hops is beer #1 in our series – made to honor the hop revolution that ignited the craft brewing movement thirty years ago. Interestingly, I didn’t read the label close enough before I started drinking Highland Ambush: I hadn’t realized it was … Continue reading →

Raven Mad Imperial Porter

You remember Raven Mad—it’s their Imperial Porter, part of their “Big Brews” series in the 22-ounce bottles, and it’s the one with the 3-D label (and comes with 3-D glasses). I had previously sampled this with friends but had never done a full review. It’s also a barrel-aged beer; … Continue reading →
