“The Love of Beer” is coming to Bend

Back on day two of the Beer Bloggers Conference, we were able to see the premiere of “The Love of Beer” a documentary about women in the brewing world. The movie predominantly features Tonya Cornett of Bend Brewing Company along with other women luminaries of the Oregon beer scene (yes you can also spot Deschutes Brewery‘s Veronica Vega in it too). It’s a great movie, but it was uncertain (at the time) when and where … Continue reading →

Update: BBC also has Irish Stout, according to their Facebook post today. Deschutes Brewery Obsidian Stout: “Obsidian Stout … Continue reading →

Lovely Cherry Baltic Porter

This past year at the Great American Beer Festival Tonya Cornett of Bend Brewing Company won a silver medal for her Cherry Baltic Porter, and while it was initially a GABF-only brew, it is now more generally available (though I believe BBC had brewed a Baltic Porter in the past). Last month a bottled version was released (only the third beer BBC has bottled, after Hop Head Imperial IPA and Elk Lake IPA) under the … Continue reading →

Update to the Bend Brewing/10 Barrel moves

More information about the big 10 Barrel changes I blogged about yesterday: Bend Brewing Company and Tonya Cornett (the head brewer) both posted on Facebook that Cornett is in fact not leaving BBC, but she will also be brewing for 10 Barrel. Here’s what was written: Bend Brewing Company announces that Brewmaster, Tonya Cornett, will take a second brewing position with Ten Barrel later this year. She will remain Head Brewmaster at BBC overseeing all … Continue reading →
